I don’t know how I’m feeling about trading Manson anymore. I feel that value is good but not sure we do it with where we are at

Rumors have Montreal getting a 1st to a 1st + for Chiarot this isn't close to that.

Kase > Domi

Without the name "Domi" on his back, there'd be no interest in him from the fan base. Management isn't in this to please the fans with trades, they're in it to win. Kase helps a hell of a lot more than Domi does

chariot on the wrong side and a healthy scratch for decent futures is a good way for the answer to be 'nothing', especially when combined with wasting a 1st for no upgrade over holl and making the goaltending worse.
Throw in Domi's inability to do anything outside of having a 10 game hot scoring streak and, yeah, nothing is the answer

Those rumors likely came before he continued to be utter garbage all season on the worst team in the league.

They've been pretty consistent all year actually, Chiarot will fetch MTL another 1st, and maybe more.

As an Oilers fans, I'd be happy to get Mrazek, but he has a modified NTC and the chances are pretty high that Edmonton isn't a team he's willing to go to

You don't watch many Habs games, do you?! Chiarot and Romanov he easily been our 2 best D men all year and before you say it's not hard to be the best on the worst team. They are both significantly better than you let on, otherwise other fans wouldn't trade for them and GM's would have no interest in them. Chiarot is a middle pairing D man capable of filling in on the top pairing when needed. We saw it in Winnipeg when he filled in beside Byfuglien and also in Montreal during the Playoff run where when used on the 2nd pairing correctly he can be quite effective. A lot of fans from rival teams seem to think anyone less than a 1st pairing guy is "garbage".

Mrazek is not the goalie that the oilers need. Oilers reject that trade.

I bet 85% of MTL players advanced stats suck this year, hard to have good numbers when you're in last place.

Chiarot was carried by Weber and has been brutal this year. Absolutely brutal 30% in High Danger Scoring Chance percentage. He bleeds chances against, which is not good for a defensive defenceman.

Ok now show the stats when he hasn't had Niku, Clague, Savard or Wideman as a partner dragging him down!

Edit** Most 2nd pairing guys are not able to carry the defensive duo's otherwise they would be considered top pairing guys.

Why are they last place? No Price and No Weber and they are the worst team in the league. Chiarot was minus 5 last night. He's minus 24 on the season. Stunningly bad numbers.

Minus 24, minus 5 last night alone. He's a trash defenceman

Weren't 3 of the Edmonton goals on the PP? That makes his 5 vs 5 stat a more respectable -2 and that can be accounted for by simply just being on the ice while a goal is scored. For instance I saw a goal where Chiarot was covering the guy with the puck in the corner and Clague was covering the front of the net (not very well) and Clague just allowed the Edmonton forward to tap the puck in after being centered. So that is another minus on Chiarot even though he was doing his job and covering the puck carrier in the corner.

Savard has similarly bad numbers. Petry is drowning as well. Niku and Wideman have the best numbers on the team but both are limited players.

You don't get a minus while on the PK. So if he was on the ice for PP goals as well then he was on the ice for pretty much all the goals against. Trash defenceman

He's the best goalie of his generation. A true generational goalie. No hurt feelings just giving credit where credit is due. Are you arguing he isn't that important?

I just checked again, all 7 goals came at even strength, Chiarot was on the ice for 5 of them.

Right, the Habs were just so bad they always seemed to be shorthanded lol. However watch some replays. The first goal (Kane) was from the opposite side of the ice from Chiarot (-1 for him even though he was not a factor on the goal). 2nd one Chiarot was lost in the high slot so he deserved that minus 1 (-2). 3rd goal was just a good keep in and net drive by Draisaitl don't know many D men that don't get scored on on that type of play by Draisaitl (-3). 4th goal was the one I was referring to earlier Chiarot was engaged in the corner with Hyman and Clague allowed RNH to go to the front of the net and put it in the open side uncontested (-4). 5th goal Chiarot wasn't on the ice Wideman and Clague were the D men. 6th goal Chiarot was engaged with the puck carrier on Montembeault's right and Romanov allowed Draisaitl to sneak down the left and score (-5). So all of that shows you that Chiarot was a direct factor on two of the goals against. The 2nd and 3rd goals of the game but was given negatives just for being on the ice for the other 3 even though he was doing his job and was not the reason for the goals against.

Chiarot sucks man

I understand your view from just looking at the stats but these are the same things that he has dealt with all season and the reason he is a minus 24. Teams don't often attack his side of the ice when they do its to isolate him away from the front of the net leaving the weaker D man to contend with the dirty areas. Like I said he is a good 2nd pairing guy but isn't a top pairing guy cause he still has many weaknesses and does get exposed like on goals 2 and 3
