Imagine a world where we get Chychrun for ____, offer sheet Hague this off season and David Jiricek falls to us in the draft (Lenny7 your dream right?!?)
The D Core looking like:
Fowler - Jiricek
Chychrun - Drysdale
Hague - Shattenkirk
Benoit
Crazy but a fun little random thought or I suppose dream if you will I just had
(Moist...)
Can't imagine Jiricek jumps straight in, but that'd be pretty awesome.
Chychrun worries me a bit for the Ducks. Think he'd be a great addition, but can't imagine the Yotes do it without getting MacTavish back (Which seems counter productive at this point). Feels like digging a hole to fill another. That being said, it'll be interesting to see if we could potentially get a haul for Hampus at the deadline (Seems like a
@TZ11 idea), which could give a bit of balance to it all.
My ideal deadline/offseason would have:
Draft: Jiricek
Trade: Hampus/Rakell/Manson
Offersheet: Hague
Sign: One of Gaudreau (He's likely either staying in Calgary or going to Philly
), Forsberg or Hertl. Maybe they're a stretch, but I think you need to take advantage of the cap space while you've got it...it'll get tight over the next few years regardless, so you might as well swing the bat while you're in the box. If you can't get any of them, then you start looking at the Boeser-type guys. The Ducks are in the enviable position of being a team on the rise, with a bunch of solid prospect trade assets, and a wack of cap space. If you can keep the assets, do it.
