Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why would you make that swap with the Pens? Don't get me wrong, the Pens say yes every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but I'm trying to see the advantage for BUF.

A change of scenery, I think Kapanen is better suited to play in the Granato system than Olofsson. We need more speed and effort and Kapanen is a more physical player than Olofsson.

I mean for sure I'll take that, but I think ppl don't realize Kap still has value. He forechecks, has speed, and is younger. He still positively impacts possession when on the ice. So if a team wants him, they'll still give up value, pens probably add here, but it's hard to gauge how much.

As I write this Buffalo has Tuch and Okposo at RW who seem to be able score (Quinn, Hinostroza and Peterka all also appear to be capable but two are unknowns and Vinnie is a UFA).
Buffalo has Skinner, Girgensons, Asplund and possibly Bjork who have proven they can score when playing among the top 6.
Kapanen would fit right into Granato's stretch pass system.
While I have not watched him play much for Pittsburgh he was great when he PKed for the Leafs.
So if Penguin fans want to move him, I as a Sabre fan think he would fit in perfectly.
