I'd rather keep Lysell over letting him go for someone that's more likely a rental. Other than that good deals

Ya I’m not sure what the likely hood of resigning him is but I don’t know why he wouldn’t if the bruins offered him a fair contract especially if you put him in between hall and pasta. But definitely I would only trade Lysell if there’s a good chance of him resigning

True, it seems like the window is closing though on the core we had before a retool truly takes place. Would rather keep the young guy so when the retool does happen he'll be ready to go

With the rebuild you either have to replace Bergeron or completely rebuild, I think Marchand has quite a few years left but Bergy might only have 2 left in him at most

We have the pieces to retool, getting someone in FA would be great but that's hard to do. I see the trade and where it makes sense, would just rather try to keep Lysell for the future and try to get that 1C through a different trade or FA

I, personally, would want the Jets to ask for a prospect or pick instead of DeBrusk.

Not for me. He's going to be severely overpaid for what he brings with his QO and has asked for a trade so he doesn't have much value. I'd just rather the Jets ask for a prospect or another pick.

Well they are a fool lol. The sharks would prefer a top C or RD prospect but Boston doesn’t have that. Lysell or even Swayman, don’t see him being moved, would be ideal for San Jose

Boston has a good team, minimal bad cap hits or long term cap issues, the issue you guys have is a super thin prospect pool.
my recommendation, trade 2-3 non core guys, at the draft, get a bunch more picks and don't deal any picks or prospects for 2 years, utilize FA since Boston is a coveted city to play in.
you cant maintain a championship window without a decent to deep prospect pool.

and if any scouts are still here from the 2015 draft FIRE THEM NOW!!!
Bostons youth/ prospect pool tool a hit when you hit on 1 out of 3 1sts and even that player you hit on isn't great and now wants out.

I’d be ok with DeBrusk to see how he fits in. His QO is expensive but if he fit in (apparently he’s great in the room) then maybe we could get him signed at a reasonable 3rd line rate. He’d bring more than Harkins or Vesa with a better scoring touch. I’d be happier with this years 2nd though.

Yeah, I just don't like him because he started or playing bad this year, the coach reduced his ice time accordingly and DeBrusk whined and asked for a trade.

The Jets already have huge problems with their compete level and with guys getting ice time they shouldn't and then seemingly sulking about it if their time is reduced.

I don't think they should add another player who thinks he's entitled to ice time to that mix. Especially an expensive bottom 6 one.

Only word is LeBrun said San Jose was preparing to offer him a contract. Don't know when.
