Trying to make decent trades

Created by: Super_Randy
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 2, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lines to finish the season:

Toffoli - Suzuki - Caulfield
Gurianov - Strome - Gallagher
Poulin - Pitlick - Anderson
Hoffman - Poehling - Byron

Edmundson - Savard
Romanov - Poolman
Niku - Allard

Price
Vladar

Lines actually on the roster below is what the team would look like heading into the 2022-2023 season.

Drafted Wright no.1 overall. Traded the DAL 1st round pick (15OA) and MTL 2nd round pick (33OA) to CBJ for their own (10OA) pick and drafted the best RD available ( David Jiricek or Simon Nemac - I created David Jiricek but it could be either. This trade only happens if one or both are left available at 10. If not, we keep pick 15OA and 33OA and draft Pavel Mintyukov at 15OA. Tristan Lunneau at 23 OA and Jack Hughes at 33OA.

Wright and Jiricek starts the season with MTL and if they can't stick to the club in the first 7 or 8 games (whatever the limit is), they go back to junior to dominate for another year.

****** Legitimately tried to be fair and not make trades heavy in MTL favour. If all you are gonna comment is " XXX laughs and hangs out", go play outside. Actually comment what was unbalanced about the trade and what, if any, adds would have to be done to make it even.

If the Pens had the cap space they'd take that in a heartbeat, or at least they should.

Thats not the sort of move CHI would want in any Strome deal, also Evans recently signed a new deal so doubt he will be on the table for trade discussions. His cap is friendly also. You should stick with him and we keep Strome

there is no way, dude hasn't even hit 15 goals in 5 years.
They aren't going to do that. Poulin is 20, they aren't running him out of town.
Not to mention they can probably do better on the cap space. I can see DeBrusk talking to Heinen and being in Pit next year.

Flames arent doing that. Vladar has been good and is signed for another year at dirt cheap. Chiarot is a healthy scratch on the Flames

Doubt Columbus trades down to 15, not that Montreal would ever get that pick because that trade is really bad for Dallas

I won't feel bad. Dvorak and Petry are having bad seasons but that does not make them bad players and insiders and analysts both believe Petry will fetch a first plus decent prospect and Dvorak was traded for a 1st and 2nd not too long ago. One 1st for Dvorak is fair and retaining on the Klingberg contract will cost something plus Petry is maybe not worth Gurianov and the 3rd but add in the fact that Dvorak is worth more then a 1st it's fair when it's all put together

Ehhh no.

Not only does Dallas not have cap for this, and not only does Dallas desperately need to use their high draft picks very wisely over these next two summers, but your value is all whacked out. Dvorak's value has plummeted and if you think the Stars would be the one who needed to add in a Petry/Gurianov swap I have a bridge on Saturn to sell you. C'mon, man, you know better.
