Dont think itll happen but Moving DumbaTalbot to keep Fiala

Created by: tmann10
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2022
Published: Feb. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Addison can fill a Dumba type roll on obviously a much more favorable contract and then will be able to retain Fiala.

- Talbot could very well be on the move. EDM NEEDS a G. We could easily find a bridge backup for Kaapo.

Los Angeles are already set on their right side. Just don’t think it’s the roght partner since they have already goes out and said they where looking to add a left handed puck moving defenseman

Lot of it’s here but the Wild cannot spend 2 mil on the 4C role and a Kahk/Jones tandem terrifies me, especially in front of that D corps.

Question, is there any G whose a free agent this summer whose as good Talbot? If not, I think we should keep Talbot. He's cheap. Edmonton is where G go to have their career end. Apparently they never fire their G coach

Kings do not need RD: NHL - Doughty, Roy, Walker, Durzi. AHL/OHL/etc -- Clarke, Grans, Spence. All of whom have legit NHL upside.

Not sure where the sudden influx of "Dumba to LA" trades are coming from, with the only possible reason being the Kings have center prospects the Wild fans want. But they aren't taking into account what LA actually needs -- A dynamic LD or a scoring winger.

I could understand the thought process of a Fiala trade to LA, even if I don't think he's the right guy for LA. But it would make more sense than Dumba to LA.

D corp is basically the same core as it is this year besides Dumba. Kaapo has been plenty solid with them so. Jones isn't who id necessarily want, just meant a veteran goalie in general.

Talbot is our starter right now obviously, but with the way Kaapo has shown he can play, I could see the Wild looking to move Talbots contract, while cheap it is a place they could move cap. Talbot has already been in EDM before. Finding a FA backup to Kaapo for cheap I don't think will be too difficult, especially if it's only for a year to get to Wallstedt the following year.

Also sturm is about as good a 3/4C in the league and will demand between 1.5-2 mil imo. Maybe they won't bring him back, who knows

His gf is from MN and I know he stays with her family so I know he is very comfortable in MN

I get why you moved Dumba, but I actually think he’s more important than Fiala. Fiala is a dynamite offensive talent and I’d keep him in almost any other circumstance. But you can find 80% of his impact for half the price pretty easily. Moving Dumba replaces a top pair caliber RHD with an aging vet and a 22 yo that has yet to show he’s ready for full time top 4 duties. Couple that with Kahk having such a small sample size and I don’t think you really gain much, but rather open the door to a much lower floor.

Dumba to Los Angeles is a bad idea for the Kings, for the reasons my friend @PuckLuck_77 sets forward, and a bad idea for the Wild, for the reasons my friend @jnowariak sets forward.

With the exception of that one lunatic you guys had, who kept popping up under different names after being repeatedly banned for egregious insults, ALL of the Wild fanbase are my friends.

Addison I believe is ready. He's barely really gotten a chance to play and Dumba can be very very suspect back there. Makes some definite bonehead decisions. But also can be very effective don't get me wrong. The one chip he for sure has over Addison is the leadership and locker room chemistry. He is the energizer of the team and keeps it light and fun.
