Wow, I'm glad the Oilers have no cap concerns. I really doubt Varly has Oilers on his trade list and for sure Palmeiri isn't waiving his NTC for Oilers.

Wtf is that oilers deal. It will cost significant assets to move 21 we certainly arent getting anything back for him.

Oilers do this. Yamamoto hasn't gotten back to his 2018-2019 game since then and we need cap room for Nurse's new contract and to re sign Puljujarvi, McLeod, and a bunch of others. Puljujarvi is going to land between 4.5M and 6.0M AAV depending on how many more than 60 points he gets this season which he is on pace for.

The Chara and Varly trades are at least semi-plausible (although the picks may be a round or so too optimistic), but WTF are the other two trades? No one is giving up anything of value for Palmieri right now, and why on earth would Ottawa want Bailey?

Oilers reject both trades, the varlamov trade is just bad. For the yams trade however some people may like it, but i like yams and i think he plays well so oilers reject that imo.

Josh Bailey isn't what Ottawa needs at all. He's not a top 6 forward on this team, he's not a long term part of this team's future, and he's not a worthwhile way to spend a 2nd or 5mil in cap space for Ottawa.

Not sure why the Oilers would be throwing in an extra 4 on top of Yamamoto to gain Palmieri's age 32-34 seasons at $5M AAV. And what do the Sens do with a 32 year old Josh Bailey? They're sellers to, they shouldn't be adding veterans with term.

Islanders fans need to realize that as much as we don't want to believe it, no one is going to willingly absorb any of their $5M+ AAV contracts, since none of those guys are playing up to them and they all have significant term left. The team is stuck with Bailey, Palmieri, JGP, and Anders Lee through the end of the season *at least*.
