Just wait till summer and sign JK. Certainly the Sabres shouldn't be giving up good futures for him.

Value is okay ish for Klingberg but if he accepted such term DAL would re-sign him. Problem is that he wants a Hedman contract (8 years, $63M in total). He's not willing to sign anything but a max term as of now.

Hes going to get traded to a team who is willing to give him an extension right away I feel. Sabres have an extreme surplus of LHD... I was debating between a 2nd or a 3rd for Klingberg, Ultimately decided on the VGK 2nd as it will likely be near the 3rd round anyways and it helps secure Klingberg here

Fair! Seems the whole reason he wants out is feeling underappreciated!

Yeah, it's because he got treated different to Benn and Seguin who were signed with max term deals immediately after their last years started. DAL front office have just now realized how bad those contracts are looking for us as a team long-term and wanted to avoid doing the same mistake with Klingberg, which Klingberg, understandably thought as DAL not appreciating what he's bringing to the table.

In a perfect world cap wise DAL would love to keep a player of his caliber but sometimes things just don't work that way. In a tight cap era it's just a fact of life, we can't have another $8M+ long-term contract on a player who realistically isn't getting any better.

It's time for a new generation. Miro, Robo and Roope are most shining Stars, both figuratively and literally.

I just don't understand why we need Klingberg? He's a offensive D, we don't need a offensive D to pair with Dahlin or Power, on the contrary, we need a top 4 RD who will play well in defense. Only if you do not want to create a fully offensive pair, but it will be very weird and there will be trouble in defense.

Senyshyn for the 7th will do it. Don't want Eakin at all.

Edmonton declines. They have no need for Colin Miller and certainly wouldn't pay a 2nd to rent him.

According to the CBA you can no longer put conditions on player resigning. This is what killed Buffalo in the Reinhart and Hall trades.
