I really dont know Kravtzov's value. He is 22 and playing solid in the KHL but he isnt like a superstar and his growth has slowed down a bit. I expect a bit more out of him at this point. But, hes still very good. I think this might be an overpay on the Rangers side but let me know

Canes pass as Hoffman doesn’t fit the Canes playing style, and also the cap wouldn’t work. Plus, that’s a bit much for Hoffman, and I don’t think the Canes and Habs will be trading any time soon.

i forgot about that tbh. But the canes love players who have had controversy so Hoffman is perfect

You know, they said the same thing about Kane. Funny thing is, he’s in Edmonton and about as far away from Carolina as possible. Waddell wouldn’t waste his time on Kane, as he drafted Kane, so why would Waddell waste his time on Hoffman, who he knows is a 1 trick pony?

I personally wouldn’t do that deal, but other oilers fans may like it…also, Samorukov is not ready to play in the NHL.

Hoffman was more of his wife having problems. Kane was accused of r-pe and had a gambling addiction.

I’d like to find a way to make sense of a trade that include Drouin and chariot to Edmonton both being retained obviously but the stumbling block I keep running into is making the money work. Could use kosk to offset costs but sadly can’t trust smiths health enough.

Edmonton declines.

- Allen is injured and isn't an upgrade on Koskinen. He has another year of term which complicates things because the Oilers already have 2 goalies under contract next year. They aren't in the market for a backup anyhow, if they acquire a goalie it'll be a proven starter.

- Drouin is also injured, doesn't score goals and would be down the depth chart in Edmonton, behind Kane and Hyman. He's not physical nor does he play a 2-way game so he's not going to fit in their bottom-6 either.

Edmonton doesn't have the cap space to fit them in next year either.

Neither Allen nor Drouin carry much value around the league. You're asking for a 1st + a B prospect? That's laughable.

I can fix this mess in one move. Replace the entire coaching staff with the best available personnel, independent of spoken language.

The rest will sort itself out over time.

There's no excuse for this collection of players, regardless of roster issues, to be performing this poorly. Even teams that intentionally tank aren't this bad.

Drouin has interested me for awhile would really like to see him next to Leon. He’s got great vision and passing ability and plays at a similar pace to Leon. Of course has his faults but very interesting target wouldn’t completely disregard. Drouin Leon jp as a second line leaving hyman and nuge to run third line that’s pretty crazy depth.

Toffoli is an interesting add for the Islanders but I feel like you can only add him with sending one of their other forwards out - it'll give them another 30+ forward making $4M+ for 2022-23/23-24 in addition to Bailey/Nelson/Palmieri/JGP/Lee. Plus, as of right now they only have Pelech/Pulock/Mayfield under contract for 2022-23, so they need to devote assets to the blue line too

This is on point, Isles cannot afford Toffoli unless they move out 1 of Palmeri or Bailey.

Would you give up a 1st to find out if it works? How do you handle the cap next year?

The Oilers are trying to get harder to play against as that's generally considered to be necessary for winning in the playoffs, Drouin is the opposite of that. He has scored 15 goals over the last 3 seasons combined! Even at $2.75M I don't think many cap strapped teams would be interested unless bad cap was going the other way.

I agree he doesn’t by himself make the team any tougher to play against he does however add depth that allows someone like hyman to play lower in the line up which helps the bottom six from being caved in which has been an issue. The second year of his deal really causes the complication not sure how willing retention would be and that’s a huge sticking point. Think it’s a good target just a complicated tough deal to figure out. I’d consider samorukov and a first for Drouin and chariot both 50% retained just no idea what money can be sent out to fit. Side note I noticed something they brought up in the broadcast yesterday smith is wearing brand new gear maybe looking too much into it but doesn’t strike me as something he would do if considering retiring at season end.

I lost trust in Lou after he didn't sign a major free agent this past summer (us re-signing our guys from last season doesn't count)

Yeah, you clearly think that Drouin is better than he is. Push Hyman down the lineup? That's hilarious - Drouin is half the player Hyman is. And he's made of glass.

If Montreal wanted to trade Drouin at 50% for Kassian I would at least consider it, but I don't think that's a good trade for Edmonton anyhow.

Hyman was on the third line last night with Mcloed playing above him. Not saying Drouin is better than hyman but is a better fit next to Leon than Mcloed is.
