Insane that you think the habs will trade Toffoli for Dube and a 2nd AND retain 50%, laughable

Some guy will come here and tell you to swap the 2nd for a 1st, Dube for Pelletier and add three more firsts, good luck having a conversation about a Toffoli deal on this site!

Ehhh, I think people need to pay more attention to what Pelletier is doing as a rookie in the AHL. If the Habs want a 1st at best they're looking at Zary realistically Poirier/Emilio Peterson/Phillips or a combination of those. If they want Pelletier they should lower their expectations on the pick.
Treliving also loves Pelletier and on the radio yesterday said he has played himself into an NHL position there just isn't a role for him on the Flames right now, don't think you move that guy at the deadline.

For a team making a push into the playoffs, it makes sense to get rid of the guy you cant fit into your team for someone who can. If he was a mainstay in the NHL on his ELC, that could potentially be another story.

Sure, unless you have a Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, Kylington to re sign then I would way rather have a league minimum Pelletier in the middle 6 next season than give him up with a first for Toffoli. As opposed to going out and having to sign Lewis, Richardson, Pitlick to an extent, you fill the holes with a league minimum rookie that can play and slide guys like Dube down.

GIMME THE TZAR, he's had a tougher time than expected to adjust but he's a good two-way center in the making.

Agreed, I think he’s likely a better prospect long term, Flames need to have Pelletier for right now cause there is some big money contracts looking them in the face. Zary has a higher floor than Pelletier but Pelletier fits the Flames right now, don’t see Treliving moving on from him.

Yeah Calgary needs to put the pedal to the metal this TDL while Tkachuk is still cost controlled and their core still there. Crazy to see that out of the 23 man roster, 12 are unsigned for next year.
Toffoli fits the now and the medium term future while being on a very reasonable contract (If he keeps punting 30 goals a year he's a steal)
Pelletier fits the now and the medium term future, low floor but high ceiling (A bit like Matt Savoie?)
Zarry is expandable if they're going all in this year considering he only fits the medium future and further. If we can get a 45-50 point per season Brayden Schenn/Bo Horvat type of player I'd be thrilled.
