This is probably a more realistic representation of what might happen.

that'd be nice. but i'd settle for players that are better than what they have and not, at best, ok bottom roster players. The leafs need players who can push their guys down the roster not just shuffle deck chairs

Well I mean Crouse does push Engvall down and puts Simmonds as a scratch

iim talking a top 6 guy who bumps everything from the top down. a JT miller or whatever, because it then creates actual depth and you have top 6 guys in your bottom 6 that can rotate in and out as needed. replacing bottom 6 guys with bottom 6 guys doesnt do that.

Schenn is a downgrade if it forces lilijegren or sandin out of the lineup. A roster defenceman would also need to be going out in that case (holl or dermott)

Actually.... were these moves ever on the table, I would do it in a heartbeat. Not sure the other teams would though.

This is exactly the kind of depth that would help without giving up large amounts of higher end assets.

Nice work!

Still want a larger scale move to the D core but, not a bad start at all.

Their top two lines are fine the way they are. What they actually need is some bigger, more physical guys in the bottom-six (Wood would be my guy but Crouse works), and yeah, they need a T4 D with size and/or grit. If I had it ny way, I'd get Schenn and a T4 to move Holl to 7 D. Guy is big for NOTHING.L, but there aren't many T4 available. Severson? Double-retained Subban? Maybe Manson but he's fallen off. Not a ton of options. They might HAVE to throw a bunch of bottom pair guys at the problem.

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Sandin
Schenn - Liljegren
Dermott/Holl

If Dermott is the one out it gives Holl as a fallback plan in case Sandin or Liljegren can't hack it in the playoffs.
