Description
Don’t hear me out, this is just my wish..

Trade with Pitt: the narrative around Myers and his 6mil aav has been far overblown as he’s been a bonafide top 4 d man this year. While he’s still over paid, based on this years performance, you won’t convince me that the pens are better with Marino opposed to myers. He’s a Burke type player especially when the playoffs come. Understandably, this is an unrealistic swap with how much money is exchanging hands.

Trade with NYR:
Still think this trade undervalues Miller, not a big fan of kravtsov but to move the entire cap hit for Miller without taking much back would be worth it if management is truly intrigued by kravtsov. With that said, I would rather othmann over kravtsov

Trade with Tampa:
There’s no reason for Tampa to trade Joseph. Not really sure what he would be worth even, but I love the profile and he would be getting a bigger opportunity with van. Van shouldn’t be trading picks, but these should be recouped with motte, halak trades at the deadline

You guys keep sending us Pearson, who's not only a major step down from Kapanen, but HE'S BEEN A PENGUIN before. He was such a bad fit in this system that was acquired and traded IN THE SAME SEASON.

This trade completely favors VAN and not the Pens. Pass.

EDIT: This trade also doesn't work financially for the Pens who have no space.

The only way this makes any sense is take out Pearson and put in Hoglander, then Retain $1M on Myers.

I'd hate to see Joseph go. I think he pulls a Verhaeghe/Miller/Marchassault and given the time in the top 6 flourishes, but this would have to be considered heavily

Don't worry, some Canucks fans have no idea how the other teams rosters shake up valuewise

It's not just VAN fans on that part. Too many people don't look at roster/cap situations. It's the value in this trade that makes little sense.

You claim Myers is better than Marino…who are you trying to convince? Lol. If that was the case then you wouldn’t be trading him to us. Everybody knows that Marino is better than Myers in every way and Kapanen is better than Pearson. And the difference is much more than a 3rd. How about Matheson for EP40 half retained and a 3rd?

I disagree. 5v5 numbers would back me up. I won’t even address the EP comment because there’s no comparable between the 2

Over the last 3 seasons Myers at 5v5 has a negative shot differential, scoring chance differential, high danger chance differential, goal differential, and expected goal differential. Marino is greater than 50% in all of those categories.
In that same time span Myers has 12 goals and 53 points. Marino has 10 goals and 57 points. Marino played 156 games to Myers 171. Marino is more effective defensively and offensively while being 1.6 mill cheaper and 8 years younger. Horrible trade

Did you happen to check the isolated numbers for this season? Or take into consideration the usage of each player. Or how about the “soft factors” with regard to the fact that myers hasn’t exactly played on a good team/good partner in a position where he could succeed? Or did you look at the numbers in the postseason? I’m not going to dispute in however long which player turns out to be better or who has the better contract. Simply put, I think myers could help the pens more than Marino this season/postseason. You can disagree and that’s fine

Not sure what 5 v 5 stats you’re looking at, but literally everything says Marino is better. I know you Canucks fans don’t live in the same universe as the rest of us and tend to be homers but y’all are really starting to challenge leafs and Habs fans for most delusional. No offense. I mean the first step to recovery is admission and until you do that there is no help. You Canucks fans wouldn’t be trading for Marino if you didn’t know he is better than your teams garbage lol

Check the level of competition each guy plays against. Anyways, it’s a Pointless arguement cause the reality comes down to the fact that it’s my opinion that for this season I stand by my view. And on top of that, had you read the description you would’ve noticed that I said this was an unrealistic trade given the money exchanging hands so I’m gonna leave it at that

Yea no, if you want Marino and Kapanen, it's Boeser or Garland and more coming back the other way

No they wouldn't lmao. Are you stupid?

Myers is still a negative impact player defensively and Marino isn't. It's pretty simple.

Evolving hockey's isolated impact model accounts for quality of teammates and competition and Marino still blows Myers out of the water.

You tried.
