  2. Giroux, Claude ($4,137,500 retained)
  3. Thompson, Nate
Additional Details:

Even if risto had turned it around like you say (he hasnt, hes still awful and the leafs dont want him) you are not recouping a 1st.
It was a terrible trade let him go in ufa, theeafs dont want him

    No, they really dont.
Ritchie can stay on the marlies, dermott is better than risto, engvall is a very useful 4th liner and lol a 1st.
Not even close to take in risto and brassard doesnt sweeten the pot because the leafs dont need 3rdiners either

I like how you spelled out the logic of the Giroux trade in particular. Ultimately though and this is just my opinion I think Sakic’s stance is COL would give up a Ranta/Helleson prospect and a 1st but they are reluctant to give up Barron with the questions surrounding Byram’s health.

You have officially raised the flag of "literally any defenceman is better than what we have" camp.

I don’t think it needs explaining why oilers hang up and refuse to waste time answering any further calls from Philly. Sorry that’s way off

risto would have a bounce back if hes moved period. something clearly isnt going right in philly for him.

Nothing has been right for him ever. He sucks and always has. He's never been anything but a PP specialist with moderate success and all together sucks defensively

-Avs trade looks about right. I think Compher and no double retention is more likely and quite frankly better for us, but thats not the important part to focus on

-NRD flat out said today there is a market that'll look to pay either a 1st for Ristolainen at the TDL. Trading Ristolainen to the Leafs on this site is like throwing a grenade in a China shop, but especially with the Ritchie angle I actually see that being a plausible move.

-Don't really see the Edmonton trade being feasible. They're not in a position to give up a mid 1st for depth pieces and I don't think they'd pay to consider Barrie a dump either
