Take out Lavoie and the Oilers accept. They dont have alot of right shot wingers in their system, they would be giving up 2 in this deal. Maybe swap Lavoie with Savoie.

Pens decline the first two trades. Were not trading Guentzel and even if we did it would be a way better return

Not sure why PIT is moving Guentzel.

Pretty underwhelming for Vladdy.

Edmonton has more right shot forward prospects in the system than left shot. And Savoie has more value than Lavoie.

I'd rank Edmonton's forward prospects like this:

Holloway L
Savoie L
Bourgault R
Petrov R
Lavoie R
Tullio R
Berezkin R
Denezhkin L

The rest probably wont be NHL regulars and Savoie is a shrimp, further away from being NHL ready, & doesnt play C as well as wing, so Lavoie>Savoie.

I’d say Edmonton’s cap situation moving forward is a huge stumbling block in making a move like this.

With our cap situation and overall team need... really would be better off going for another top 4 Dman or starting goalie if you're going to make a blockbuster trade.

Lavoie doesn't play center either, never has. You should get to know the prospects on the team, they're fun to follow.

Savoie is posting similar NHLe's in NCAA as Cole Caufield - he has a far higher ceiling than Lavoie. Perhaps Bourgault is ahead of him, I have all of Bourgault, Savoie and Petrov very close to each other. Petrov shoots right.

Here is their current age and NHLe:

Savoie, 20: 22-24-46
Petrov, 18: 18-23-41
Bourgault, 19: 20-20-40
Lavoie, 21: 12-12-24
Tullio, 19: 15-22-37

Recently Lavoie seems to have settled in and is scoring at a point-per-game pace, so I think his NHLe will rise towards the end of the season. But right now he's the oldest of the 5 and has the lowest production, although he is playing in the hardest league. Right now Savoie looks like a 20+ goal scorer in the NHL, while Lavoie does not. Lavoie may be closer to playing in the NHL, but his ultimate ceiling appears to be lower.

I wouldn't be so sure: https://theathletic.com/2794655/2021/08/29/lowetide-why-oilers-fans-should-be-excited-about-the-progress-of-maxim-berezkin/?amp

I should point out that Lavoie's recent point-per-game pace in the AHL would result in an NHLe of 20-20-40 if maintained long term. So his production right now as a 21-year-old is behind 20-year-old Savoie and about where 19-year-old Bourgault and 18-year-old Petrov are at.

your not getting Jake.

what's even more funny than how bad that trade is for PIT, is that you have somehow come to the conclusion that it's an over pay?
because 40 goal wingers grow on trees.
