I think the offer would have to be fantastic for the sens to get rid of pinto he’s one of there most valued assets and would of easily been in the Calder conversation had he not gotten injured. The trade is ok but I think sens would try to replace pinto with something else

Dumba or Fiala. Not both. Both would cost you more than that.

wasnt my proposal initally, not that bad either though i dont think. 1st+jarventie for fiala, pinto+2 for dumba. Maybe throw in another supplementary piece but is it that far off?

I understand wanting the Dumba & Fiala upgrades but that's a lot to pay for two players that dont have contracts moving forward. Heck of a lot for Dumba too cnosidering hes just a rental. Ottawa's looking to contend next year... for the playoffs. If they were contending for the Cup I'd be all for it but without extensions its tough.

Well to be honest. It is hard to say. The Rumors for Fiala and Dumba are only because of the Wild's cap space. Trading one would fix that. So trading both would be unnecessary and not make sense. Dumba probably stays because he was just given an A. Fiala would be the one who is moved. But not in season.

In the end I think they move neither. I'm pretty confident that Guerin will find a way to keep both.

In terms of that trade. I like it a lot, but I think Billy would want you to sway that 2022 second for a 2023 first. Due to how important Dumba is. Is this trade really worth it for the Sens at that price?

Personally I don't think it is.

contracts are easily the biggest diffculty, will be pretty hard for the sens to eat whatll be like 14-15 million and extend all of the young core easily

Value isn't off, I think people just don't wanna part with both. The only reason we want to part with one is because we have to.

Dumba through his 10 team no trade probably blocks a trade. Also that there hasn't been any talk of Minnesota not keeping Dumba suggest he's not available

I really cant see Ottawa doing that first trade. Especially with Fiala seeming to force his way to UFA. I see them going after Giroux in the offseason though

Fiala isn't "forcing his way to UFA", he wants a long term contract and Guerin is the one that won't give it to him.

Edit :

Oh I didn't see it but I'm not doing that second trade either

Maxence Guenette is actually a pretty decent prospect, just still a bit unknown for most. I followed him since being even drafted, because he is from the Q

I wouldn't give a 2nd round pick on top of him to get a reclamation project who is going to be paid 6 M$ next year.

Exactly, like I have already said in another ACGM :

Fiala and Dumba are excellent players and Ottawa would surely love to get them but Pinto and 2022 1st round pick (OTT) are extremely valuable and close to "untouchable"

However, Dorion recently said that the pick COULD be available if it's worth it. But giving both the pick and Pinto in the same trade? Not sure, I think you'd need to find a way to replace Pinto by another piece

MIN
Järventie, Roby
Brännström, Erik
2022 1st round pick (OTT) (Top 5 protected)
2022 2nd round pick (TBL)

OTT
Fiala, Kevin
Dumba, Matt

Problem is it seems that the Wild doesn't need a guy like Brannstrom

Outside of "rentals" and picks, Ottawa doesn't have a lot of guys to trade right now

None of Batherson, Tkachuk, Norris, Stutzle, Formenton, C. Brown, Chabot and Zub should be traded. Sanderson, Pinto and Greig are "untouchables" so that leaves other good prospects like Jarventie, Sokolov, Thomson, JBD, etc
