                  I'm looking at comparables for Smith and he is slightly overpaid. Cracknell isn't the issue, it's the first round pick. 2 seconds and Dzingel is crazy and Chabot and Brown aren't being moved. If I'm moving a first, i want to make sure it's in the right deal. I'll counter later.

                  Ok fair enough. Are you using the comparable tool here on capfriendly because I am and his comparables are Kreider and Palmieri. Two players that over the equal amount of games played has scored less than Smith. (Slightly)

                  It's a solid offer but I'm not looking to take on two 30 year old guys (albeit very good ones right now) one with term, for a very good young defenseman.

                  Ah got ya, that's what I did too. I just meant that is he really overpaid then? He's a couple 100K more then those guys but over the past 4 years has higher point totals too....

                  I'd love to have too puck movers down the left side in Chabot and Orlov for the future and ik Fabbro can move it well but I'm going to hold onto Chabot. Interesting idea for a trade though.

                  He's about a .5ppg guy, $5 million for a guy who is going to put up 41 points a season is a bit steep. Granted, he has a good defensive game andI know he is a quality player but I think I'm just not ready to part with what you want got him yet. I'll probably circle back around to him at some point.
