Petry would be the 4th best RD by next season in NY. That makes zero sense for them

How are the other 3 cap dumps? They are on ELC in the minors/juniors?

The Petry trade to the Rangers is a royal joke, Petry would be on the 3rd pairing making 3 x $6,250,000 because Hughes isn't going to retain on him. You've Adam Fox making $9,500,000 next fall and Jacob Trouba making $8,000,000 and Petry making $6,250,000 Rangers can't afford Petry and paying him that much money for a 3rd pairing is asinine.

Well I’m sorry but if I’m the rangers I’d like to have Jeff Petry on my 3rd pairing at 4 million.

Why? They have Schneider there and he costs $925k.

That does not cover 14M in retention. And then does what's left over cover Anderson? I don;t think so.

$4.0 million for a 3rd pair D, when they already have Zac Jones as the future on that side at $925k. Nah, doesn't work for their future cap issues.

5x2.75 = 13.75 + 1m or so for this season = closer to 15M, actually.

Ooohhhh ok. I didn’t know you were talking about the full contract srry. But I honestly feel like it’s enough for the leafs to pay. I might change the 3rd for a 2nd but Anderson is not THAT good. Living in Montreal I see a lot of his games and he’s probably one of the most if not the most inconsistent player on the team.

For the last time, Lehkonen will not be traded to Carolina. At best, he is only the 14th forward, 15th if Smith gets used as a forward. Why waste assets on someone who won’t even crack the roster? He can’t score, and he does not play Center, and he doesn’t hit that much either. Plus, Canes won’t be able to keep Lehknonen if they did make the unwise decision to trade for him. The only thing that Lehkonen can do (I think) that Nino can’t is kill penalties. Even Fast is better as he can at least score.

Canes pass - maybe you can get that offer from somebody else and it's not too far off but the fit doesn't make any sense. Canes don't need another depth winger - they have plenty of those and I'd rather see some of the young guys get call-ups in case of a ton of injuries like Drury or Rees anyways.
