Trade deadline trades aren't team specific, just assumptions based on insider info about player value and likely trades, so take it easy. I know everyone hates the Habs on here.

The non-TDL trades you can make fun of me for.

Montreal is not likely to give up their 2023 1st since they are more likely to be a bottom team again. Also Jones is not worth all that, Drouin and a 2nd ought to do it.

That's a fair point. I know they are looking for prospects more so than picks, so that's why I included it. Norlinder wasn't an initial thought. I just didn't know how much he's valued right now, so I added extra

Anaheim happy to accept Drouin without retention, Norlinder and your 2022 second for Max Jones and our 2023 third.

It was Drouin + 2nd for Jones, Norlinder would not be included and he is not being moved for a 3rd anyway.

As a Detroit fan I would like to have the Zadina trade explained to me, as from my perspective it makes zero sense for Detroit.

To be honest, read an article about this being a possible option and didn't really know who else to add in there. Article made it seemed like Detroit might not be all-in on him. Read a little more about him and could see why the value isn't there with Petry. Was looking for younger players to fit the mold MTL wants and think Petry would be a good addition to a team where he doesn't need to eat minutes and can help as a mentor to the young guns on Detroit.

Except the Wings have Seider, Hronek and Lindstrom on the right side for the foreseeable future. Plus, at least from my perspective, that's way too much for a flailing 34 year old with boat anchor of a contract. We are not a trade partner for him.

Assuming Petry for the pick is 1 for 1,

Suzuki (112 Pts in 178 G) for Zadina (52 Pts in 135), both 22 years old, would not be a fair 1 to 1. Would rather offer Petry + 1st rd pick and Norlinder if I simmer down the Ducks trade.

We already have older vets to mentor the Youngs guys on Detroit. Nick Leddy and Marc Staal being them. Leddy is likely gone after this year. Staal will likely resign. If we want another older vet we'll just sign a UFA this offseason for much cheaper than 6.25m. Petry is not coming to Detroit unless you pay us to take him.

Yzerman leaks nothing. The "article" is rubbish. The Vrana/Mantha trade came out of nowhere. GM's like Ken Holland have loose lips and use their press dummies to leak info. Yzerman doesn't. He's like Lou Lam in this regard. Think about it.

Why would a rebuilding team like the Red Wings trade a 22 year old former 6th overall pick for a 34 year old defenseman who has 3 years left on his contact at 6.25 mil AAV? How is this good for Detroit? Plus they're set at RD with Seider, Hronek and Lindstrom. It makes Zero sense for the Red Wings.

Still a pass, only trading zadina for an upgrade not for a 34 year old. You can keep Petry, we wouldn't give up a 2nd for him, you would have to pay us to take him

Understandable and its refreshing to see a poster reflecting that maybe value wasnt there.
I apologise on behalf of other Wings fans who come in a bit more riled up, about half the time we open up a Habs thread seeing the wings logo its a bad deal for Petry and it definitely starts to get grating lol
