Hagel is a 23 year old player who currently has 27 points in 46 games. That's up from his rookie year last year of 24 points in 52 games. He's on pace for over 40 points and over 20G. He's also signed for two more years at $1.5M per year. What do you think that's worth?

Mrazek and Holl are cap dumps to the Hawks and I can getting into the reasons why if you aren't familiar with the hawks.

Robertson + a late 1st = Hagel

De Haan is worth a 2nd or 3rd

Flowers half retained is a 2nd or 1st.

As such you're way off here

You want a better Andrew Shaw with RFA-status, a cheap contract, and term? You gotta pay a lot for him.

Robertson and a 1st is a good start for Hagel, add some more picks on here for MAF and De Haan (say around two 2nds, and we'll retain on De Haan) and maybe a 3rd to ease the fact that you're dumping Holl and Mrazek with us. I'm being generous with this, BTW.

Although I do agree with DeHaan being worth a 3rd, I cannot see Flower getting a 1st or 2nd even at 50% retained and Hagel being worth a top prospect AND a 1st. At the end of the day, Hagel is a middle 6 forward. Period. He is underpaid for the next 2 years, yes, but not enough to garner a top prospect and a 1st. That is what Chi is asking, not what I believe they will get.

I agree on most of this, but mainly on the part of him being way off lol.

TOR should just keep dealing with AZ to take their cap dumps. They need it.

There have already been 1st + prospect offers for Hagel. A top prospect would be what it would take to at least get us in consideration. Flower has been SOLID in front of an atrocious defense this year. A .912 SV% for a goalie on a team as poor as Chicago really says something about their skill, not to mention the 4 shutouts, one against a fiery Ducks team. He's worth a 2nd at LEAST. As for De Haan, I agree with you.

I genuinely don't think you realize the benefit you're bringing to the Leafs.

That MIGHT get a conversation started. Or it might get them to hang up the phone immediately. haha. But, CHI says no. Even without the cap dumps, TOR needs to add.

Mrazek = Adds nothing to the trade
Holl = Adds nothing to the trade
Robertson = Good prospect
Late first

Not gonna cut it.

Let's be clear, Chicago isn't shopping Hagel either. They've also received multiple offers of a 1st and good prospect in which they've said no. We can interpret the definition of good prospect all we want, but knowing that they aren't shopping Hagel and they've said no to a 1st and good prospect, simple logic would suggest it's going to take a high end prospect and 1st to get them motivate to sell an asset they aren't shopping. Now whether you think Hagel is worth that or not is irrelevant; it is what it is.

The question you should be asking yourself is; would you want a more talented version of Andrew Shaw at the age of 23 on a very good contract and RFA making cup runs over the next few years and if so, is that worth a late 1st (bag of magic beans) and Robertson?

Flowers is absolutely worth a 2nd at half retained; to suggest otherwise is just not credible. Look at the Lehner trade to Vegas as an example. Taking back cap dumps, likely moves the 2nd to a 1st and Mrazek is a cap dump and not just for a year either; doubt the Hawks would consider Flowers half retained in exchange for Mrazek and a late 1st.

So you are saying a guy who is a injured Zero, a guy who is less than Zero, and a guy coming from Broken leg does not net you 3 useful players retained?
