Korpisalo, Georgiev, Varlamov, Koskinen, Francouz, Mrazel, Johannson, Martin Jones, Samsonov/Vanecek maybe?, maybe Allen, Halak if he waives his NMC, Wedgewood, Subban and more i missed. All have had trade discussions. There are too many goalies to be saying Varlamov is worth that much
Koskinen is a cap dump and at best a decent backup. Anybody who's trading for Varlamov wants a starter. Korpisalo has a sub .900 sv% for the 4th time in 5 years.
Malcolm Subban hasn't been under 3.00 gaa in 4 years.
Wedgewood was a waiver pickup and except for a 4 game season in 2015-16 hasn't had a season under 3.00 gaa.
Samsonov and Vanecek are only getting moved for an upgrade.
Mrazek oh boy. Sub .900 sv% and the guy cant stay healthy. Nobody is trading for him unless its a cap dump by TOR.
Johansson another waiver claim posting a 3.73 gaa and a .885 sv%.
Martin Jones sub .900 sv% the last 4 years and at least 3.00 gaa the last 3 years with the 4th year being a 2.94 gaa.
Halak has i believe already said he doesn't want to be traded but nevertheless has a sub .900 sv% and a gaa in the .290s.
Francouz on the best team in the league in a small sample size is putting up great numbers though I wonder how a change to a different team will affect him given what happened to Grubauer you know teams will be cautious. That aside I haven't heard his mentioned at all in terms of a trade. And it doesn't make sense that Colorado would be looking to move on during the season.
Allen's been a solid backup the last 5 years outside of the year the blues won the cup, and this year where I'm giving him a pass because of how bad his team is. The thing with Allen is someone might get him to be a backup or a 1b but nobody's giving him a starting job.
Georgiev is a very interesting guy, a very up and down career. But he's in the same boat as Allen. A backup/1b but not a starter. Now the difference with Georgiev is someone might trade for him to be a backup now and become their starter in a year or 2 but I highly doubt any playoff team is going to start him this year.
Amazingly the 1 guy that should be mentioned wasn't, Fleury.
You gave me a whole list of 3rd strong goalies and a couple of ok backups and expect that to change the Varlamov market. That's like saying Klingberg won't get as much because Chris Wideman is available.
