Don’t see that Buffalo deal working. Like you said it’d be extremely hard to resign Olofsson. The price itself is a lot to give too.

I don’t get why people keep trying to trade Nemeth. He has a MTC. He’s not going anywhere, especially to PHX. Plus what value does he have right now. He’s had a horrible year on and off the ice. It’s just not gonna happen.

On the Buffalo trade I'd do it for the 1st - a Russian in Russia at this point has zero value - Gauthier so far looks like a big strong 4th liner - Pysyk is a depth D-man rental, and Olofsson could get 50+pts but if isn't getting pts he's rather useless - as for Olofssons contract I think 4mil is the limit.

IMO Karmanos would absolutely accept this offer.

Pysyk and Olofsson for 2022 1st round pick (NYR) would be about correct right now, giving Buffalo FOUR first round picks next year.
I would roll the dice and do it for Kravtsov and Gauthier (two former first round picks that are not working out for the Rangers) if a pick was added.
So you can see, IMO this proposed trade would be nearly double Pysyk and Olofsson collective value.

Trade value isn't bad. But might be tough to resign him next year, especially with a hole at 2C to fill.

OK, I guess you are presuming Kravtsov and Gauthier have minimum value, I suppose you are correct since Kravtsov is in Russia and Gauthier has not produced much.

Gauthier has no value. Kravtsov does, but his perception as a problem child knocks his value down a notch.
