I think varlamov will end up with capitals. Veteran presence in net while going for it with ovi around. 16 team no trade clause makes this make a lot of sense to me.

i did.. Capitals 4th line has been the 2nd or 1st best line. imo subtracting Hagelin and adding Oshie would improve that line... Zacha Elller and Sheary would be a great 4th line. Mantha and Sprong looked good last year together. i think this adds a threat to every line and makes them more balanced

Though you make a BIG mistake putting Braun on the top D-pair. He's been exposed in Philly due to his age. With Ellis in, Braun would be a 4-6 guy which makes him perfect for what you need in terms of depth, but with Ellis out, he's been forced to be a top 2 d-man playing 20+ minutes a game. You're going to get fatigue and a drop off in production.

The deal still works for the Caps if Braun is put in a 4-6 role where he doesn't need to play any more than 15 minutes a night.
