Not close for Miller. Starts with a 1st and either Knies or Niemela

I only did it because the Canucks apparently really want Liljegren, I could probably change that to a 1st with the year Miller has been having. But I get you, something else might be needed for it to go through.

Ist trade is bad for the leafs. 2nd trade is bad for the Canucks, the 3rd trade I just don't like.

Kerfoot doesn't really do anything for the Canucks, but I understand he needs to be included for cap purposes. But there's no way Giordano fetches a better return than Miller

I like Larsson personally, so 1st might have been more opinion-driven. The 2nd was probably an underpayment for sure. The 3rd was only to reunite Giordano and Brodie, and considering what was given for Foligno, I think it could cost around that.

I would rather have Holl over Larsson, JT Miller will certainly cost more and the right players. Gio isn't a bad target but for the price they would ask I don't see the value. The "reunite players" is a myth that lives only in capfriendly lore.

Yeah, I get ya, I think at least a first would need to be invested as well, probably another prospect too. Giordano is 50% retained, and captains are gonna probably cost a little extra, so that's why a 1st is there.

I think all those teams say no, except TOR.

SEA just signed Larsson and is not retaining for 4 yrs. Holl is underachieving.

The difference (throughout career) between miller and kerfoot is probably that package without Schenn.

Engvall is a nice player, but a bottom 6, 26 yr old 1.25 RFA who doesn;t produce enough to be a middle 6 option, and the 1st is lower round, BUT those two might get Giordano and his limited team NTC, but I dont see SEA throwing in a high round 3rd.

Knies won't be traded, but I can see Niemela being dealt, considering the Canucks want RHD (reported interest in Liljegren). I saw a Canucks fan ACGM propose Miller to the Rangers for Schneider and a first, so a comparable package from the leafs would be Niemela and a first, both highly regarded RHD.

I was thinking the 2nd would be what Seattle really wanted and Holl would fill in a little bit lesser role, I don't think Giordano is worth a first, but the retain on him would be. I don't think Toronto would be ok with giving a first for a rental again, so they might try to wiggle another pick their way. I think Engvall is a good player personally and is a small addition, but might be enough to push it though imo.
