I would do that Oilers trade if I was Holland

Funny part of the oilers trade is those conditions are very similar to the ones already attached to Keith trade making that 2022 2nd off limits at deadline.

I did not know that. Maybe a late round pick in 2022 comes back instead of the condition

Maybe. Honestly I wouldn’t be interested at all but other oilers fans might be more interested. I personally like the group as is only would add a depth rd incase of injury

Yeah I wouldn’t be too excited about it as a fan either, but I think Holland wants to add a RHD at the deadline and Miller won’t break the bank to acquire.

We cant legally trade our 2023 3rd yet as Arizona gets choice of it or 2025 2nd.

Alright. I wish capfriendly put the conditions on picks into the armchair gm site. Maybe a B level prospect comes back instead

Miller is a Barrie-lite. I don't see the point, honestly.

That seems like a steep price from Toronto, Pysyk is a depth guy you could probably get a 3rd for him and Anderson is nice too but isn't worth much more than a depth pick. If you guys took Mrazek back in the deal as well then we'd be talking

'The going rate for responsible 2 way RHD is also extremely high.'

What exactly is this based on? If we look at depth RHD trades of late, they haven't exactly been high value. The market disagrees with you. We've seen lots of low value depth RHD trades, from Lyubushkin, to Ethan bear to Nikita Zadorov, but no high value ones. We've seen teams value 1st pairing RHDs but that's where it ends and Pysyk isn't that.

Lyubushkin got a 2nd and a roster player, and he makes almost double what Pysyk does, has played less than half the NHL games Pysyk has, and doesn’t offer any offensive upside. I think you’ll be surprised what guys like Pysyk will go for at the deadline this year.

Mrazek could definitely be something Buffalo would look at but he also has a no movement clause that he might not waive for Buffalo and the Sabres might want a little something extra for taking back his cap hit.

Lyubushkin also came with another depth player as well as a cap dump from the Leafs. The 2nd is also in some ridiculously forward year like 2025 or something, its a 3rd round pick in 2023. In that format, Pysyk and Anderson together are likely to be worth only a 3rd or worse given theres no Ritchie cap dump to go with it.

Right but your asking price of 2nd, 3rd and 7th would probably be the package that includes Mrazek as well. If not 3rd + 6th is a fair offer without taking back Mrazek

Well Dzingel was immediately waived and claimed by San Jose. Maybe Buffalo takes back a cap dump to get that return. Unless Toronto decides to go get a big name like Chychrun or not pursue another defenseman, I think Pysyk will be one of the better players at under 1mil

Anderson would likely be immedaitely waived and the Leafs dont have any more cap dumps.

Well in this scenario I would assume they move on from Mrazek which would free up another 4 million. Maybe that’s to Buffalo, or a different team
