If you think you can get Konecny for that, you don't know the player. Keep dreaming

I know the player. But I’m giving you JBD one of our best RHD prospects. You don’t trade those easily . I’m not giving u 2 prospects we really value AND a 1st

I would be hesitant to trade a goalie prospect at this stage, especially Søgaard. Ottawa has had excellent goaltending this season, but even with Gustavsson showing real promise, the long term goalie outlook is still very murky. I wouldn't cast off one of their three goalies prospects yet

I have JBD stepping into our lineup next year. Sogard is a good goalie prospect but Philly needs a goalie. Jarventie is still young but we do not know if he's going to be an everyday NHL player yet. We still have our 2nd round pick. If Sens are not competitive next year, Dorion's out. It's been a 5 year rebuild already. Konecny is on a solid 5.5 mil for the next 4 years. He's a power forward who would be amazing in a playoff series and would fit in our identity. We need a top 6 forward who is at a reasonable cap with Jimmy Stu and Sanderson coming up! This would be a great deal for both teams.

Sogard is the one goalie in our entire team I would NOT trade. Also Jarventie could be a star, one of the youngest players in the AHL, I’d hold off on that .

I don’t like it. At this point just offer Fiala an offersheet for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd

I haven't been that high on a Sens goalie since Robin Lehner. I think Sogaard has Rinne potential. Like you said, would be a mistake to trade him at this stage.

Nobody knows what would be the exact value for Konecny

The problem here is Sogaard and Jarventie's potential.. (not to mention the first in 2023 who could be 10-20th OA)

They were EARLY 2nd round picks and have done NOTHING to lose value, au contraire their stock rose a little. They're both worth a late 1st round pick at the minimum for Ottawa and frankly, they wouldn't move them for these picks. But for the sake of the discussion here, let's say they would... That's THREE (3) first and a 2nd for Konecny who has 3 years left before becoming UFA.

If Konecny is to be LW, I'd much rather KEEP these assets and take my chances on RIDLY GREIG, Formenton, Sokolov or Jarventie, etc

I'd be pretty pissed off if Dorion was to give up all that for Konecny considering what Sam Reinhart and Pavel Buchnevich went for last summer

Noway Yzerman would do Zadina and Brannstrom 1 for 1, Zadina has more value then Brannstrom. Plus Brannstrom doesn't fit the kind of mold that Yzerman is interested in a Dman.

No thanks, Brannstrom is a tweener. Plus he's tiny.

Konecny is the perfect guy for Ottawa and I'd happily give up those picks + Jarventie and Mandolese.

Certainly wouldn't pay Nick Paul that much. If that's the ask Ottawa should be moving him at the deadline for a 2nd then use that 2nd to get Arizona to take Zaitsev.

Sure man, Look at Yzerman's bluelines they're basically 6'0" to 6'8" not like a 5'10" Brannstrome.

Brännström is going to be a good defender but he's not a player Detroit needs at this time in their rebuild.

Yzerman is like 5'10". He drafted a number of undersized players. To say he has a size issue would be hilarious since the biggest criticism of him was he was too small. If Yzerman thinks he can improve Branstrom to be a tradable asset or long term player, I don't think he would hesitate. He isn't losing much more than an already failing prospect.

Tofolli went for a roster player, prospect, 1st, 4th and 5th.

Eichel went for a good roster player in Tuch, a top level project, a first and a second.

Konecky for a goalie prospect (is Sogaard a high level prospect?), a top prospect, protected 1st and a second doesn't seem unreasonable. If he is getting traded it will be competitive.

I could see Toronto offering Robertson, a first (unconditional), Kerfoot, a second, plus maybe another prospect or AHL / borderline player. Sometimes it about having to beat the other guys price (see Duchene, Colorado trade).

Yzerman drafts undersized players on offense not defense big difference, Look at his draft record on D basically Dmen 6'2" to 6'9"

DeAngelo 2014, Gudas 2010, Janosik 2010, Nesterrov 2011, Thomas 2014, Johansson 2019

Lots of examples of under 6'2" D drafted under Yzerman.

That was then, This is now he's basically drafting 6'2" and above with Detroit.
