      why

I value Chytil who is still signed next year and finally feeling healthy to what would essentially be a rental in Lehk since we can’t afford him at his 3-4M demands. Despite all the chatter around Chiarot getting similar package as Savard did last year, he was actually your worst D man last playoffs and really just gets praise over his Knee on knee with Tavares. Paying a 1st for him to be on the 3rd line isn’t worth it when we can get similar for less. I hope you guys get that 1st, just not from us. Calvin DH will be a 3rd probably and fits the need. Otherwise I’d rather just keep Jones, Schneider, Lundkvist and Nemeth to share the 3rd line. There’s something to be said for kids getting the Playoffs experience so I don’t want them to be pushed out at the start of our window even if it’s a long window

fair enough on the chytil point, but i dont think lehkonen's gonna be getting 3-4M. probably closer to 2.5-2.75M imo
sure chiarot wasn't great, but he provided good defense with weber. and i dont recall him doing anything to tavares (i watched the whole series), the only incident with tavares i can remember was the accidental perry knee-to-head

but other than that it makes sense

Three of those trades are tolerable if the 7th rounders are taken off the deals. I dont think they're to the right teams though.

Hammond is had for Future Considerations. Just look at the last two goalie trades.

This actually made me laugh out loud. But he's still got nine more to go...

Would Allen be a fit in Edmonton if the Habs took Smith back?

Every trade looks good except ARZ trade. Habs keep Hoffman for that price

I'm not saying no immediately: it would depend on which version of Allen came to Edmonton.

The biggest hesitation I have with it is Allen isn't good enough to tandem reliably with Skinner. Getting rid of Smith is fantastic and I'd probably make that deal, but the ideal target is always going to be a better netminder to mentor Skinner. Granted, the problem with that is that none are available.

That Hoffman deal is actually pretty intriguing, you can easily try to flip stralman too. If you retain on him once more instead of pitlick you could probably get a 2nd back from the right contender (TOR,FLA,TBL)

Yeah with Fleury supposedly off the market, the only guy I see that might fit the bill is Varlamov but he's a little unpredictable and I'm not even sure the Islanders would give him up.

That Savard armia trade is nuts, I'd rather keep them than pay 1st + 3rd. Crazy...
