Not worth it. Dubas has said he has no plans to spend 1st rounder on rentals. This doesn't work.

why are the leafs adding a 1st and 3rd when they are trading away the better defenceman?

top 10 protecting their 1st this year would be literally pointless.

Stop dreaming. Leafs fans consider holl as a cap dump.

Chariot can play big minutes in the top 4 for playoffs. Fast, nasty and physical. He is way better than Holl

So you won’t make a move and wait for Matthews, Nylander and Marner contract to expire ?? They need help to get playoffs success.

A third pair LHD does not a difference make in that regard.

Would Chariot be the better defenseman? Probably. Tougher? Absolutely. Is this package even value? Heck no. Holl, while having his slights and spurts of inconsistencies, is not a cap dump by any means. He's a solid #4 dman on most teams in the league. If there was 50% retention I could see the Leafs doing Holl and maybe a 3rd for Chariot. Or 3rd and a late round pick.

Yea, he's the worst, thats how he got us to the Stanley Cup Finale last year, playing 25 minutes a game... I can see you're hockey smart...

well that's because he didnt get you there, Carey Price and Danault did. that's why you're currently a lotto team with chariot being as good as he always is (which is awful) and without those two playing out of their minds

It was Price, Danault, and our first D pair (Weber and Chiarot) who got us there. Price was protected by Weber and Chiarot, nobody was getting close to Price without getting hurt. Those 2 played over 25 minutes a game. You should really consider Chiarot, he's one of the best defensive D out there, and definitly the toughest one available. I hate to see fans **** on Chiarot, he's a great playoffs D. I would sign him for 5 years if we weren't rebuilding. Someone will pay a first for Chiarot, he's better than Savard.

he is literally one of the worst defensive defenders in the league. by every single metric that exists. He's a bad regular season defender and hes a bad playoffs defender. He's awful, Savard is also awful but chariot is more awful

I can't imagine a team reaching SCF with one of the worst defenseman playing 25 minutes a game. I think you're delusional.

Pretty sure i watched every game. And what i saw was Matthews and Marner (and any Leafs players) couldnt get within 15 feet from Price without getting crosschecked by those 2 beasts.

pretty sure that if you think that you didnt actually watch the games because the leafs had a million shots and chances from the entire high danger area around the net the entire series and chariot didnt do a thing to slow it down

Leafs got more shots, but they were definitly far from the net. All the TV shows experts were talking about how the Habs managed to keep the other teams from taking dangerous shots on Price. They can't all be wrong.

no, they were not. people literally tracked the shot locations and the leafs shot a tone from in close. if the experts think otherwise they are both wrong and clearly not experts
