Built for playoff hockey 2

Created by: dannymills4
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 13, 2022
Published: Mar. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In this scenario Muzzin stays on LTIR as I have a sneaky suspicion the Leafs will keep him there. Crouse, Konecky, Domi bring the grit. Braun is an experienced shut down D-man. Holtby with the cup experience and Chychrun needs no explanation. Also get to keep Robertson.

Oh, no the old "grit" excuse for dismantling the team and trading away futures. Thornton, Foligno, Bogosian and their grit didn't help in last years playoff, nor Clifford the year before.

Leafs don't make the offer. Leafs keep the superior Kerfoot, and his extra term. Gee, don't know why you say Kerfoot isn't good value

Those trade are apples and oranges compared to the one I am offering. First, Bogosian was an excellent 6th D and didn't resign because of Ontario's covid mandates. The Thornton signing was bad IMO and I hated the Foligno trade. Clifford is irrevelant at this point in his career and at the time he was traded for. You get Konecy on term for the next 4 years at a good number and he brings actual offensive upside compared to the fading Foligno (see his stats this year). Domi can be resigned for $3.5-$4 mil as he hasn't exactly been impressive over the last 2 years, but there is still upside. Crouse is a pure fourth line mauler who's young and isn't an old veteran past his prime looking for one last chance at a cup.

Kerfoot is under term at a reasonable number and is better offensively than Domi and makes less. Great trade for CBJ

We don't want Kerfoot. We have never wanted Kerfoot. We have spent the better part of three years explaining this to Leafs fans over and over, and will likely continue to do so for another year and a half until he reaches free agency.

Just don't bother offering him. Ever. We were done with the discussion years ago.

Sorry this isn't cap compliant if Muzzin comes back this season. And next season no where near cap compliant with Muzzin, Reilly's raise and RFAs to sign. Trying making a 22/23 with this group....and no way Domi could be signed either. Really just throwing away a lot of futures

CBJ don’t have space or need for Kerfoot on their roster.

Please, please just keep Kerfoot.

CBJ have a million cheaper, younger, higher ceiling wingers. It's not money. It's roster space. They need room to let their young guys play. They want to move domi but they don't want another depth winger in return. This is what Jackets fans have been saying on here for months. The can afford kerfoot's contract with no problem but they don't want him

Engvall and Holl have essentially no value to Philly. Definitely not enough for TK and Braun
