Let's not ruin a good relationship with an offer like this.
The only value here are the 2 picks and Robertson, and that wouldn't get Gibson by himself, but it would be an overpayment for Lindholm on his own.

Yeah, I kinda figured, but also thought there was a framework here to work off of. Honestly Anaheim is doing Gibson a disservice by keeping him, they won't be close to winning any time soon and hes in his prime. Might be something there to work off of.

I think they're closer than you think. This team is going to be very good very soon, but in order to do that, they need a solid base in goal.

I'm a Ducks fan and this is an unpopular take that I agree with. Stolarz looks good enough to hold down the fort until Dostal is ready anyways. I'd be super happy to move the two players you have the Ducks giving up here, but I think the package is really lacking considering Toronto is receiving a dman who can reliably play 1st line minutes, a legit starting goalie with term, and dump the Mrazek contract. Maybe something including Robertson, Liljegren, and some high end draft capital

As a Ducks fan, we're not THAT close. We have most of the pieces, but they're almost all too young (Drysdale, McTavish, Zellweger, Lacomb, Dostal, Perreault, Tracey, Pastujov and now Helleson). 3 years away from seriously contending, maybe 1-2 away from playoffs

My feeling was 1-2 years for playoff contention. But you watch them on a daily basis, so I'll take your word for it. I know of 7-8 teams that would pay handsomely for Gibson

If we're just talking getting into playoffs and maybe winning a round or two, I think we're on exactly the same page. But being at the level that a team like Colorado, Carolina, Florida, Tampa etc to really contend for the cup is another year or two beyond just squeakaing into playoffs (and requires some development luck with the kids).

I do think I'm a Ducks outlier in that I'm in favor of moving Gibson. The way I see it he's already 28 and in his prime, so if we won't be seriously contending until 3 seasons from now, I'd want to get some good value for him while we still can. I'd likely feel differently if we didn't have someone reliable to step in with Stolarz, and a strong prospect in the pipeline with Dostal, but since we do I'd prefer the prospects/draft capital.

Landro I know you're a big Ducks fan and have a level headed perspective. Curious what you think about my conversation above to Dutchies ^
