Ladd established that 5.5 for 1 year of a cap dump costs a 2nd rounder. Youre taking on 6.4 over 2 years which is worse. Its for sure a 2nd. The reason i wouldnt do more is bc kassian is a better player than ladd and can provide something.

Your analysis here excludes the fact that MDZ and his 2mil cap hit is going back in the deal, too. As such, it's the equivalent of 4.4mil. If you also agree that Kassian is a better player than Ladd, then I don't think the 3rd is that far off. I could agree if you said it still needed a bit of a sweetener, though.
