I'd say no, because Brannstrom would join a crowded LD situation in Pittsburgh. I would trade a pick straight up for Paul at the deadline though.

Once Pinto returns, theere won't be room for Kapanen.

Right shot forwards
Batherson
Brown
Pinto
White
Gaudette
Watson
Gambrell
Kastelic
Sokolov

Most teams have maybe 4 right shot forwards, Florida has one in their top9. A search by handedness on NHL.com for this season has 402 left shot forwards to 227 right shot forwards, a 64:36 ratio, so for an average 12 forward game lineup, that's 8 left shot and 4 right shot forwards (7.67 and 4.33).

Ideal would be 6 and 6

XXXXX, XXXXX, Batherson
XXXXX, XXXXX, White
XXXXX, Pinto, Brown
XXXXX, Kastelic, Watson

who cares about what hand he shoots he plays right wing, whites also almost definitely being bought out and gambrell, kastelic and watson are like guranteed career 4th liners at best. This gives them flexibility if brown doesnt re-sign to slide kapanen down a line, move burakovsky to the right and play greig on the LW somewhere was the main idea

I'm sorry, but Kasperi Kapanen is not a needle mover for Ottawa in the top six. Rather just commit to Connor Brown as the 2RW than Kapanen. They need more.

He asked the question, "any interest in a swap like this or?"

Yeah that Norris contract is bad, but so are the Forsberg and Formenton contracts

formenton is a pure bridge and forsberg got the mrazek contract those are far from insane, maybe put out some of your own ideas and thoughts on ACGMS instead of just tearing everyone elses all the time lol

For the record, if Ottawa wanted to ball out completely and trade Brown to then bring in that elusive impact RW, the Sens could do a lot worse than Kapanen as a replacement for Brown on the 3rd line. I just think, for the type of role you're bringing him in to fill, he's just not good enough. I think Formenton is the better fit with Stützle.

Hard to say. The fan base is annoyed with his goal drought, but there is a sense that the front office doesn't want to give up on him yet.

its not even that I think they want to trade brown nor do i think they do, I just think this gives them a ton of flexibility in the case that brown prices himself out of ottawa and leaves as a UFA. Bump kapanen to the third line, move Burakovsky to the 2RW then either move up formenton or throw greig in the mix somewhere on the left. It just presents a lot of options for a couple of pieces who are realistically pretty expendable

I have put out ACGM with specifics, and my comments in others ACGM's are often lengthy and full of my opinions.

I like Formenton, and he's getting a raise for sure, but .he has 87 NHL games, give him a chance to prove it's more than a small sample size spike. This is the mistake many teams make in giving a guy too much too soon.

Forsberg has played great, but so did Gustavsson last season. How many people had Gus pencilled in for $3MM-$5MM after last season? Gus signed for $787,500 for two seasons on Aug. 29, 2021, after going 5-1-2 with a 2.16 GAA and a 0.933 SV%.

Gus had 9 games
Formenton has 57 games

Sign them, Formenton and Forsberg, but be reasonable

It's actually pretty important for NHL teams. They look at handiness closely

That'd be a pretty bad contract to give up, I'd be furious at Dorion.
