After goiing all in with Hagel, why not pursuing another pieces. They are against the cup favorite so they better maximize their opportunities. In the upcoming 2 season Lightning roster will change a lot. They have many rfa who will get major raise. Point will make at least 9, Cernak will get a raise, Cirelli too and Sergachev so this year and next one is pretty much the year to do so.

you don't seem to understand that Lehky is due for a raise BUT all Tampa has to do is give him his QO and take it to arbitration to get an extra year at around 2.5-2.75 mil. Hagel got 2 1sts + 2 2nds if the difference between 1.5 mil and an extra year is worth more than a 2nd I would be very surprised. The difference between Lehky's scoring and Hagel's is most definitely not worth more than a 2nd (21 goals vs 13 goals = 8 goals difference and 37 points vs 28 points = 9 points difference) we are not talking about Hagel vs Byron here, we are talking about similar aged players with similar scoring abilities on slightly different contracts but both with at lease 2 years of team control. 2 1sts (or in this case a 1st + Foote) vs 2 1sts + 2 2nds is a reasonable comp.
