Tampa gave up the equivalent of two first and Knieves for Hagel. Imagine what the Leafs would have to add for Fleury and dumping Mrzarek.

Depends on how CHI views Knies vs TRad/Boris, but you being up a good point.

So this exact trade was reported by Darren Dregger as what the Hawks wanted in return.

So, you believe Darren Dreger? He can say whatever he wants, he's a story teller trying to be relevant. Interesting he comes out with his fiction AFTER the trade is made. Man, anyone make up a story at that time.
I'm disappointed in sports fans, who actually believe story tellers (reporters). They are constantly trying to out do each other trying to convince the masses they are "insiders". As long as they are being followed and helps their network ratings, they keep their jobs.

Oh, no I have 0 trust in what Dregger reports. This is the same guy that said Crosby was going to the Avs last year. The guy is a nut job.

But If it's true, and I'm the leafs, I take that deal. Hagel with two more years at $1.5M and getting rid of the mrazek contract and getting a vezina caliber guy like Fleury. Fuxcin do it.

Also, settle down pal. Lol

Just giving background on why I framed the trade this way.

CHI didn't get any bad contracts in the Tampa trade, I think that flexibility ultimately made it the best deal. If Tampa gets upset in round 1 of 2023 or 2024, the hawks get a pick they would've gotten from TOR.

But TBL is likely playing TOR.

That deal isn't comparable to what Anaheim got from Boston.

Boston's 2022 first >> Toronto's 2024 first
Boston's 2023 second >> Toronto's 2023 third
Boston's 2024 second < Toronto's 2022 second
Vaakanainen = Dermott (factoring in the contract differences)
nobody cares about the $2.25 million Moore is owed for next season

I don't think anyone is trying to compare it to BOS though. Not at trying to be mean. They're comparing it to what Hagel got from TBL.

CHI wanted later picks and NOT 2022 picks
