Nothing says fiala is a cap casualty for the wild. It’s more likey they trade dumba than fiala.

With all due respect, fiala declines, and Minnesota declines. Fiala has alot more worth than two 2nd round picks and a winger prospect who would be behind Adam Beckman of wild. They will just trade him to ottowa whose GM is known for setting in on one player, and overpaying

Three second round picks is all fine and dandy but the possibility of any of them becoming impactful players is still small. A 1st needs to be there.

If Forsberg walks, why would NSH choose to lose more assets to fill that void when they could simply sign a guy in FA -- they have more than enough cap space to offer competitive contracts to any UFA this summer.

Pens decline. Wouldn’t even do a 1 for 1. If the pens re-sign Letang that makes our 3rd pair RHD way too expensive. If he doesn’t, we would much rather go the market and get a free player than spend assets to bring in a cap dump 3rd pair d to play top 4.
