That's a really interesting Fiala trade, though I'm not sure why Buffalo does it. Think they'd rather keep Thompson

I mean they're about the same age, Fiala has more points (though he's on a better team), they're both RFA's upon their deals expiring. I don't see how it's extremely far off in value as it seems you're suggesting, but as I said in my original comment I don't see why Buffalo does it.

Selling Thompson while he's hot. I just happen to like the Sabres other centers over all game (Krebs/Mittelstadt/Cozens) better over the long run. Moving any one of the 4 to the wing is has shown not to be best for their. For Dobson, I see the right side D the Sabres need and trading a 1st rounder when they have 4 1st rounders in the next 2 years as a means to get the player you want.
