Description
Cap goes up 1 mil next year. The sharks get creative to shed some cap and make a splash. Marchment has ties to SJ and makes sense if he can play RW. If not him, other mid level right wing fA's make sense. Rust, Strome, Trocheck, Rakell...

MTL won't give asset for Simek, they won't even take him for free.

Sabres pass
Reimer wouldn’t even be near the top of our list of choices
And even if we struck out on our top choices & decided to trade for Reimer, there’s no chance we’d give up a 2nd for him
He’s an average goalie who just isn’t the mentor we’d be looking for
No thanks

Is marchment really worth that contract after 1 good season at 27 years old?

I don't think Ferraro, Barabonov, or Dahlen get that much. Signing Mason Marchment means you won't be able to extend Timo Meier when his contract expires the year after. The players on your taxi squad are actually scratches, so they should count against the cap.

so i take it you never watch sharks play never watch Reimer never listen to a single thing any of his coaches say.
Buffalo is goalie hell, no one wants to go there no one wants to play for them your only choices will be washed up has been a who are trying to rebound or over the hill guys looking for one last pay day.

I don't really care where the trades go or if the Sharks get anything for these guys. I believe Labanc, Reimer, Simek, etc are all moveable without retaining or paying extra to move. If you think the signed guys get less then great. Also, the scratch vs taxi squad guys can be either sent to the AHL or not re-signed. They are not that important.

I like Marchment and think he will be worth that money but if he can be had for less then i'm all for it.
