I think the Dallas trade is the only trade somewhat realistic, that said I don't think Montreal wants to retain on Petry.

Yeah, they'll work hard and compete, but this is still a bottom-feeding team.

Doesn't have to be Buffalo, they are just on the bottom of the list at the moment.

There's absolutely still time to delete that Nuge trade before Oilers fans show up...He just signed a team friendly 8 year deal in Edmonton last offseason that includes a NMC through the entire deal...Pretty confident that he's not leaving Edmonton.

At least that's a decent Petry trade, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and his NMC isn't waiving for Montreal. Vegas can't afford Hoffman when they're already over the cap going into this coming summer. And Letang gets more term.

Price isn't waiving for a Canadian team, IF he is traded it'll be to an American team they can be closer to his wife's family. Price has already said he isn't going anywhere so unless it's the perfect fit for his family he won't waive. RNH doesn't waive either. Vegas can't afford Hoffman but I do hope they manage to move drouin.

HABS don`t want that contract. 7 more years that`s crazy. We need to make space for Up and coming talent (Joshua Roy, Sean Farrell, Jan Mysak and the draft this year)

NO WAY WE TRADE FOR Hopkins

That Oilers trade is terrible and Nuge isn't waving for that anyway

What a terrible take. If you can get rid of Price and his $10M contract, you take it and run. RNH is a positive value asset, Price is not.

You are retaining 50% why would we keep 50% to take on another ****ty contract for 7 years.

Sell Price to Seattle for a bag of magic beans (5th rd pick) just to get rid of the contract. HABS will not take on verterans unless they are UFA`s that they can trade at the TDL next year

Why would Seattle pay an asset to take your broken goalie's $10M contract?

Never mind your terrible take on Nuge - a regular 60 point 2-way center who is on a very cheap deal.

We don`t need another player who will deteriorate in the next 3 years and have to carry his contract for another 4 years. We don`t need him and we don`t want him. We have enough kids in the system that will perform either at the same level or better.

You like him and his contract, then keep him!

Because Carey Price’s contract is literally the worst contract in hockey. RNH would be a 2C on Montreal. Only Nick Suzuki has put up more points this year than RNH and RNH is still on a better point per game pace.

No way Edmonton would ever consider doing this, no way RNH would waive his NMC, and no way anyone should ever listen to one of your takes if you would decline that trade lmao.

It`s a mute discussion. We don`t want RNH. It`s as simple as that. Why even propose a trade. I done with this post.

Great input all around and I wasn't aware of the RNH NMC so my bad.
Was just thinking the Oil could use a goaltender for a playoff run and would need to give up a contract player to get him even with retention. Seattle wouldn't pay for Price when they could have had him for free and Vegas could work some magic like they always do, don't you think.
If the Habs can move the players listed in trades for some kind of value, then they are all the better for it. But will need a decent LW or 2 to play on the top 2 lines.
