I agree and they shouldn't even entertain trading Greig. Fiala's worth is a ~20th overall plus a B+ prospect.

I'm not sold on trading Greig. Way more skill than he's given credit for, and he projects as a two way threat and one of the best **** heads in the league. That's an Ottawa Senator through and through.

Value isn't that bad but I just don't want to trade Greig. I have analyzed this guy's game a lot and he'll be a key impact player for Ottawa.

Sanderson, Pinto and Greig are my 3 untouchables

On top of Chabot, Stutzle, Batherson, Norris and Tkachuk

I also really hope they don't trade Formenton, Joseph, Zub and Brown

The 12 guys above in their prime = contender (assuming you don't Tierney/Josh Brown up the depth)

2023 first (top-10 protected) + Roby Jarventie sounds good. Minnesota should do it.

I'm not sure why you think fiala is worth only that, he has 61 points in 69 games and is only 25 years old. If he was on Ottawa we would be demanding a top prospect and multiple high picks for him.

I get it, Wild fans love him. He's a really good player but reality is a different beast. We all want top value for our players on these make believe trades but that isn't real life. See the most recent example, the Eichel trade. Sabes fans wanted 4 1st round picks for the guy, they got one 1 first, Krebs, Tuch and a second round pick. And the 1st round pick will be around 15, maybe later if Vegas makes the playoffs. At the time of the trade, I bet Buffalo was expecting it to be later.

I said this in another thread, Fiala's value is very similar to Reinhart before his trade to Florida. And looking back, the JT Miller to Van, Duchene to Colombus, Trouba to NYR, Toffoli to Vancouver, Toffoli to Calgary were all similarly structured as well. Not one of those trades did the team receiving the player cough up higher than a 20th overall pick.

Sens need to keep Grieg, While he may not end up playing center at the NHL level, watching WHL games this year I think of his style as Brady Thuchuk 2.0, his physical play lends him better on the wing. That being said, I agree he needs to be untouchable.

Fiala is an interesting player, and I am kinda on the fence about it. He does have good scoring skills and would help the top 6 in OTT, my hesitation is I know the number he is going to demand in his next contract is likely going to be overvalued in the long term, and does that fit with the core of Stu, Brady, Batherson and Norris, and the money they are gonna get, not to mention Chabot, Sanderson, JDB. Also I would like the Sens to get some one in the top 6 to play with Stu that is more physical.

Think about Mike Hoffman and the value he had. He was less than 3 years older and had a 0.75 PPG (62 pts per 82 games)

Sure there was additional context to his value but players value differs from one to another, production is not the only factor.

Look at Reinhart and Buchnevich value last summer, players values are not as much as we'd like to think on this site.

2023 first (top-10 protected) + Roby Jarventie is not a bad offer at all
