Description
FA Signings:

Forsberg - Getting Forsberg would be massive, having an all-Swede 1st line w/ Petey + Lysell would be elite. Would also make complete sense with VAN's love for all things Swedish.

Domi - Who else but Horvat's best friend to be the linemate for him that we've been searching for for all these years. Also adds the final bit of pest and grit needed to complete that bruisingly elite 3rd line with Greenway.

Only are reason Minni loses Fiala is because they don't have cap space. They certainly don't have the cap for Boesner, or really the desire to give yp so much for him.
Poolman isn't worth trading for \\
LA doesn't want all that cap for those two middling to good players. LA spends cap better.

Minnesota doesn't want boeser Canucks fans. No, we aren't trading a 1st or greenway for a winger we don't want or need. Sure as heck wil sign any other winger in free agency. Minnesota isn't going to trade for boeser or their picks. So with all respect, Canucks fans stop trading boeser to us

That would be a horrible allocation of resources by Minnesota.

Garland for Turcotte is fine, and we might have to add Grans or the second. We have no interest in Pearson, and we would have less than no interest in exchanging Lemieux and a second for Pearson and a third, even with the difference in draft years.

i think everyone is blowing the "minny has no cap space" issue way out of the water here. they have 10 forwards/6 dmen and a goalie unsigned. bring in a vet or two or a rookie or 2 at the goalie spot, or the final forward spot. fiala gets a modest raise no idea what his figure would be... based on comps blake wheeler 8.71% fits the best here. that would be about 7.2m on a 6 year deal brings him to 31 YO.

Minny currently projects to have 8.18m cap space. with a roster size of 17... can easily find moves here, moving foligno, moving zuccarello, moving jost send merrill down and almost his whole cap gets buried to sign middleton.

i just dont know that minny looks at their situation and says the only option is moving fiala.

But Guerin does. It's been abundant, there's no going back with Fiala. There's been zero contract talk. Also, Minnesota will never ever move Foligno. They aren't trading jost who they just acquired. They also won't move Zuccarello

Think you confirmed peoples's fear with your suggestion. 6m Zuccarerello with a restrictive M NTC just can't be traded on his listed teams, cause they have no cap too to taken full 6m contract

Foligno will place top 10 in selke voting this year. On that contract - no chance he gets moved. I sincerely think there’s a handshake deal in place to send fiala to Ottawa this offseason. It’s the only thing that makes sense at this point.

couple quick things... 1 foligno over the last 2 years has shot 27% and 24% on a combined 120 shots. very volatile numbers and unsustainable. 2 easily the most TOI hes been given in his career this year. 3 its still about quality of competition. everyone talks foligno up as if hes playing against the best lines every night and holding them to nothing and also scoring. this is the first year hes given top 6 minutes. theres no chance a dude with sub 15minute toi is getting top line matchups every night.

it doesnt NEED to be fiala and only fiala is all im saying. guerin is a pretty decent gm. hes drafted well, brought guys up and put them in spots to succeed. made good trades. im just saying theres other ways to create money than just trading fiala away. they could also give him is QO. they have plenty of space available until the season starts next year.

The greef line - foligno ek greenway get the hardest matchups 5 v 5 every night and are a top 2 or 3 line in the league at it. I think they’ve only given up like 2 or 3 goals. I agree the shooting % is unsustainable, but it’s his shot selection that makes all the difference. All high danger, hardly ever shoots from far out. Guy is a monster at even strength and on the pk, which is what a selke candidate should be with offensive production, which is what he is. He won’t win the award, but getting votes every year and playing a vital role means he won’t be traded away while on his contract.

i mean it really comes down to which you value more? fiala who is almost a ppg player and isnt bad defensively himself? or foligno who is having a career year shooting at an unsustainable amount but can play defense.
