that devils trade is interesting, I think Connor is a really good player but he could be what the devils need, the one thing is severson is a #2D on a good team, so unless you have someone in the prospect pool who can pass him within the next 2 years it might not be the move

Moderately tough call as a Devils fan. My only reservation is the contract/team control for Mercer. Otherwise, really think the Devils consider this strongly

I think PHI and NYI decline. The NJD trade is a very interesting one and I think that goes through.

Isles trade just doesn't make a ton of sense to me - not that value is off or anything (I could nitpick but I think Bellows for Svechnikov is fairly even, and Beauvillier for Dillon/2nd/4th isn't the sexiest package but it's not insulting); but more that it's robbing Peter to pay Paul. Isles *do* need help at LD, yes - but trading one of their few under-30 wingers with speed isn't the way I'd want to get one. You're basically fixing one hole by creating another, with the added "bonus" of trading Beauvillier at a lower value than he's been because he's been unlucky this year (shooting percentage this season is ~5 points off his career average coming into this year!)

The Jets aren't giving up Heinola for an unneeded, rental, average 2nd pairing LD.

Connor is untouchable.

Seattle wouldn't make that trade and the Jets don't have the need or cap space to get stuck with Schwartz's contract.

The Jets have less than no need for bottom 6 left shot wingers.

Devils trade is completely fair and very interesting.
I would prefer to keep Mercer and Severson though, mainly due to Severson being such an important player in the backend as well as Mercer fitting the Devils timeline perfectly.
I think that weighs more heavily than 4 years of Kyle Connor. I think he's great but scoring and offense just isn't an issue for the Devils in the present nor will it be in the future.
I'd hope Fitzgerald would pass on this if offered, but wouldn't be too mad if it went through.
