don’t think that moves the needle for the jets, they’d want the devils’ first this year for a shot at nemec/jiricek and i don’t see jersey trading it

Cernak and Hellebuyck aren't being traded, And Brad Lambert isn't worth the 5th oa pick his stock has fallen off big time.

They shouldn't.
(but if they do...it should be to New Jersey).

I wouldn't rule it out, but would lean towards keeping the pick.

Cernak and Hellebuyck may not get traded.
But you are way off on Lambert.
He is a top-10 prospect...top-5 on my list.
5th round is bonkers.

Yeah Lambert is more of a bottom 10 pick then a top 5 pick. He's not having that great of a season.

Oh, I would really like to see your draft board then.

For me, the skating alone makes him a top-10 pick.

Tankathon has been fairly accurate and they have him down at #9 where Detroit is drafting.

Dude it was meant a 5th oa i changed it. Still most mocks have him in the 9 oa to 15 oa range.

This feels like a take that you can go ahead just ignore. Lambert is a first round prospect at absolute worst. Anything otherwise is pure box-score watching and nothing else. Saying he's a bottom 10 pick is literally insane and shows a complete lack of ability to evaluate hockey players effectively.

TB has 3 Rhd signed next year With any NHL experience so, they trade away their best on a really good cap hit and this makes sense to you?

Lambert is near Hughes-level skating ability. Maybe his point production drops him top-3 to top-7 pick, but 5th round or bottom-10 pick is looney tunes.

Fair question. TB has a forward thinking GM, who sees that two of their best prospects are Thompson and Perbix, both RD….who also sees expiring RFA contracts for Sergachev, Colton, Cernak, Cirelli and Foote…who also sees their future cap number….who also sees the forward prospect pipeline and seeks to replenish the cupboard.

I have posted many far-fetched trade scenarios. But this one is actually plausible. Not sure what fits for a return though.

In 2023-24…can they fit all current signed players, plus Cirelli, Cernak, Sergachev, Foote, and Colton? Has their GM ever made deals thinking two-years at a time?

Cirelli - large return, hard replacement cost
Colton - medium return, medium replacement cost
Foote - small return, easy replacement
Cernak - big return, medium replacement cost
Sergachev - big return, medium replacement cost

Honestly, I don’t know Lightning as well as you fans, so I am just guessing here. But selling Serg or Cernak this off-season for big return could be savvy move. Considering the demand for centers these days, Cirelli could also bring back large package, but it would seem he would be much harder to replace.

Yeah, I know, but where do you draw the line? Do the Jets trade somebody a year into their ELC, because they may not re-sign? Or right after they sign an 8 year extension because they may not sign another and we'll get more that way?

I'm just joking around, but seriously where so you draw the line?

NJD can probably wait an extra year and offer MAF-to-Chicago type price if that works better.

Well, you'll need to wait two years if you want the rental price, but unless he asks for a trade he more than likely won't be moved before then.
