I think I’d rather see what Dach becomes, and you rarely see these kinds of high profile trades. Also from a pure value 2nd doesn't need to be added from Chicago.

Yeah, struggling propsect for struggling prospect trades have a 50-50 shot of making one GM look like an idiot, and the other looking like a god. I also wouldn't give up a 2nd for Georgiev, which I'm assuming is part of this.

I'd have interest in Chytil, but CBJ need to clear out more Fs before they can think of fitting him onto the roster.

As for Nemeth - CBJ need RD, not LD.

That's a pure give away of Chytl. Wouldn't look to move him now because they'd be selling low. In recent weeks Chytl has shown sign of putting it together- so anything less than a 2nd plus a prospect coming back and I'd hold out to see what he brings next year. Nemeth they'll have to package with a pick to move... but anything more that Nemeth plus a 3rd- and I'd hold onto him as 7D and find cap elsewhere.

- You’re not getting Copp signed that cheap… add 500k to a mil
- You forgot to add the ‘23 2nd going to WPG… the conditions are: The NYR ‘22 2nd becomes a NYR ‘22 1st if you get past the 2nd round and the ‘STL ‘22 2nd becomes a NYR ‘23 2nd if WPG chooses

McCann should be the comp...did have 1 more RFA year- but he signed for 5X5. Similar numbers as Copp yet Copp has played with a better team and better players all year...so the range should be 4.85-5.25 depending on the term. Ability to go UFA does hold a lot of leverage- but maybe the role he'll have with a contender and the players he'll play with will entice him to NOT chase every last dollar- we'll see.

We would have to beat out CAR to get to conference finals and the 1st round isn’t a given either so no NYR fan is just going to assume this when 50% of our team are guys under 24 who haven’t seen playoffs 😂 not saying it’s not possible or that we don’t look great for it but winning metro and making it to final 4 in playoffs is a bit different

Then the ‘22 2nd stays a 2nd and WPG gets the option on the ‘23 2nd..
Jets get either a 1st and a 2nd or a 2nd and a 2nd

I could actually see him taking a quick 2 year deal under 5 to boost his value with Bread and Kakko and then when cap jumps in 24/25 which is the word on the street, he will cash in bigger

Those are the terms. No one on here can foresee what WPG will decide in that event so it’s easier to just not confuse people by trying to make that assumption. But I hope we owe you the 1st 😉

I missed that move of picks. My mistake. A 2nd stays for sure

Chytil for a 5th?! Any NHLer for a 5th isn't terrible, a legit prospect for a 5th is a steal. The CBJ need any D really (RD especially), getting both for a 5th? I'd drive to NY myself and hand them the pick if it were a physical item.

I mean, you're not wrong.

The only concern with moves like this is you bring guys in, you have to push guys out. Plus, taking on salary. I don't think the cap would be a problem though.

And I really wouldn't say CBJ need "any D." It really is on the right side. LD is pretty set with Z and Gavvy as the top two. RD on the other hand...I like Peeke's development, but 1RD is too much for him. I like Boqvist, but he is a puck-mover/ offernsive guy, and I'm not so sure about pairing him with Z. Blankenburg is an interesting wild-card though. I like him a 3RD right now.

CBJ need size and defensive ability on the blue-line.

Z and Gavy top 2 is good, but besides that we have...Bayreuther? Bean (who I don't like as a 3rd-pair guy)? Carlsson? It's not a real need, any of those guys are capable 3rd-pairing guys, but probably replacement level and might as well upgrade if you get a chance.

Peeke has been okay, I think he'd actually be a great 3rd-pair, ok 2nd-pair guy with his style.

I agree with you, we need size and ability on the blue line. We have what feels like a lot of mismatched pieces at the moment.

I think “mismatched” is undoubtedly the way to describe our D at the moment.
