I have a hard time believing Minnesota has interest in any of that. I think it would look more like the Vegas 1st and a forward prospect.

Darcy Kuemper isn't signing that, He's going to want 4-5 years minimally.

Nashville has no interest in Hörnqvist but if they did they would cut out the middle man in this deal and be the one that receives the 2nd

They shouldn't be, but Sabres should offer him that as RFA. It would be 3 picks in 2023 with Sabres 1st rd, I hope, being mid 20.

He is not getting 8 mil for 4 years anywhere. 16 mil from Buffalo and he is UFA in 2 years, with bigger cap and only 34.

Only problem with the Sabres offer sheeting him is that he would have to accept it, which I doubt he would. And if he were to accept it, I would imagine Minnesota matches the offer with how he’s been playing recently.

Plus, if they were to offer sheet him at what you signed him at it would cost Buffalo 4 first round picks lol.

Kuemper isn't even getting $8,000,000 he's basically a $6,000,000 x 4-5 years at the very most.

They have no cap to that. They would have to use picks to get rid of some contracts. I cannot think of different team that is in position to offer sheet Fiala, with cap space and picks to spare.

All they have to do is trade Dumba and then they have space for Fiala, it’s not as hard to keep Fiala as you think it is. And no, they wouldn’t have to send picks to someone to take on Dumba lol.

16 mil and UFA at age 34
24 mil and UFA at age 36

It wouldn't be bad business decision to do either.

I read they like his leadership, so I wasn't thinking about Dumba - more like Foligno, Kulikov, Talbot if they would resign Fluery.

Either way, they’d only need to get rid of a couple replaceable players to retain Fiala. If a team wants to offer sheet him at 7x7.75 I would be smiling through my teeth if I were Bill Guerin. 4 firsts for Fiala is double what he would get in a trade.

No, 4 1st picks is for 10,3 mil+.
I am aiming at this range:

$6,166,096 – $8,221,463
1 First-Round Pick
1 Second-Round Pick
1 Third-Round Pick

You signed him at 7.75 million for 7 years, that’s 4 first round picks worth of compensation. Go put those numbers into the offer sheet calculator and that’s what you’ll get.

Oh, it's because Sabres do not own their 3rd pick, but that shouldn't be a problem to reaquire it from Vegas. They also need to get rid of some deals.
But for 7,75 AAV compensation is 1,2,3.

Yeah but the AAV for a 7.75 million dollar per year offer sheet is over 10.3 so it would still be 4 first round picks regardless of the team. You could lower the term to 5 years but even then it’s 2 first round picks, 1 second round pick, and 1 third round pick. There is an equation to calculate the AAV which in turn determines the compensation. 7.75 is not the AAV in terms of your offer sheet.

I have double checked of multiple sites, and wikipedia says that tiers are AAV not total amount. So for Sabres to make that deal, they need to reaquire their own 3rd round pick from Vegas.

Respectfully, you shouldn't put foligno here. He's one of the player's Guerin would not trade. Also , your proposal does nothing for Minnesota. They have a bunch of top d prospects and they would say no to your offer

The AAV used to determine offer sheet compensation is not just straight up AAV though. For the purposes of an offer sheet, you take the total value and divide by the lesser of the total term or 5 to determine the level of compensation. A 7 year deal at $7.75 million is worth a total of $54.25 million. Since 5 is less than 7, you'd divide that value by 5 to get $10.85 million which is well into the range of 4 first round picks.

To get down to the compensation level you're looking to hit, you'd need to offer between $4,404,355 and $5,872,473 per year on a 7 year deal. Fiala would very not likely accept that as an offer sheet and if he did, we would 100% match it in a heartbeat and thank you for the help.

Here's the Cap Friendly offer sheet calculator if you would like to see for yourself.

Obviously Sabres would not make such mistake, as I did. But thanks for clarification.

The offer sheet must be the one, that Wild would not be able to match, but anything more than 1,2,3 picks is overpayment.
