It's funny how Philly fans don't realize that their team is always trying to go for it and Fletcher makes boneheaded moves.

Just because he's made one horrible move doesn't mean we're trading all our good players for terrible value lmao.

Nah, its like the 3rd overall pick. Don't think they move that pick AND Konecny for Miller when it's clear Philly needs to rebuild

Yes, my bad. One year of JT Miller is definitely worth a top five pick and Travis Konecny when we'll probably sign Kadri for free.
LMAO.

He has a long history of questionable moves dating back to before his time in Philly.

Konecny has also fallen out of favour this year and this would be aquiring a 1C.

I get that fans don't like it and want some more long term planning but that has never been Philly's way.

Classic fan not realizing players do not disappear and can actually sign extensions.

We're trading for one year. One year guaranteed. That's it.
Therefore, his value is less. Not a difficult concept.

Trades don't happen in a vacuum son. Often trades are made with the understanding that the team will re-sign the player. Believe it or not but GM's actually take more things into account than just a players current contract.

JT Miller should be worth ten first round picks because we might sign him to an eight year deal

Nice. Very reasonable.

Do you think Chicago made their trade for Jones last year without having a plan to sign him long-term?

Obviously not, that's different.
You're saying he might sign an extension which is irrelevant to his value. If the OP had listed that he had signed an extension then sure.
But as the trade is listed, it's a top five pick and Konecny for one year of JT Miller.

It's not irrelevant. Maybe OP isn't so simple minded and connect a few dots that if someone gives up a significant amount then they plan on keeping the player.

It's reasonable to presume Miller would just be extended, simple logic really

We're not going to change each others minds on this so agree to disagree.

Actually didn't realize Phili was likely top 5. I was thinking they were closer to around 10th. But ya, it would be an extension especially giving up the pick plus konecny
