Damn that's crazy how we trade Fiala for bad value and then give 8M to two much, much worse players. And then you butcher the lines beyond recognition...

Reasonable Sabres deal

I disagree. First, Dumba has M NTC and I doubt he goes waives to a non playoff team with cap. Dumba is a one year rental, and really isn't going to make a difference to the Sabres next season
I know it's subjective but wouldn't you prefer to have Middlestaat and 2nd?

Well one would assume that the Dumbe did waive in this hypothetical
And if he was willing to waive, he’d be willing to extend

Obviously is any of that isn’t true,
then the Sabres wouldn’t be interested

Minnesota declines. So does dumba. If Guerin decides to not resign dumba , he sure as heck js worth more than this. Minnesota isn't trading fiala to take on Ryan graves

Been doing a few of these myself to try and sort out what is even possible. I think you're still a player short and out of cap space. And even that is with a discounted deal for flower that we'd all wish for but know he probably wouldn't do. Keep doing these, readers like myself enjoy seeing different takes on it. If Guerin can field a competitive team through these three years, he'll deserve exec of the year awards. Having 15% less to spend on your team than everyone else (and gets worse in years 2 & 3) is no joke. I sure hope Fiala fetches more in return if we have to lose him.

Value is good for Buffalo but my interest in 1 year of Dumba is non-existent. He'd want to much for his next contract to be worth acquiring.

Rather the Sabres do the Fiala trade. Think we could beat that offer. If he signed a extension.

Probably could get a nice piece at the TDL for him being a RHD

[ I disagree...wouldn't you prefer to have Middlestaat and 2nd? Good point, IMO Casey will have a breakout year. His health severely impacted his performance this year, yet he still managed 18 pts in 38 games. Not second line output but certainly middle six forward expectations.

Probably could get a nice piece at the TDL for him being a RHD I agree.
Over his career he has averaged 12 goals and 23 assists over an 82 game season.
Only Brodin has more TOI and PK time than he and only Jordie Benn has more hits/60 than he.
Last year I would never has said this, but Buffalo seems to have LH forward depth all who have a ceiling similar to Casey's, and there is a significant paucity of RHD on the Sabre roster.
If Dumba would waive his NTC and he came with an extension at an AVV similar to his present, I may make this deal, but it is a close call either way.

I agree you should and hopefully, will fetch more for Fiala just didn't want to ask for something crazy in return when there not even my favorite team

Rasmus Dahlin and Own power need a partner and Buffalo has a lot of forwards with potential and multiple seconds. they are entering the part of the rebuild where they can move assets to bring experience talent into the roster Dumba would obviously sign an extension in this hypothetical.
Minny Needs to clear the cap for next year and they have Calen Addison Coming up on the right side if they want any chance in competing their gonna have to run with young players on cheap contracts
