Boston taking this

Description
The plan os for another year of development. Paying trocheck might ve a mistake but i feel he'll be a good part to stabalize the team for next few years. Also he and haula are insurance in case mitts doesnt take another step in development this t
Year. Adding foligno to the lockeroom should help as well. The plan would be to make prospects fight thier way unto the team over the next 3 years and to trade the odd guys out for futures.
Just not sure if boston would do ot.

I tend to agree Sticking Out Tongue, boston needs a scoring center not a winger...but i feel haula is replaceable on the team. With the savings maybe you can bring a center onboard...for instance offer trocheck the same deal i did and he'd go boston over buffalo (i assume). Or trade bjork, the pick to see if vegas will send over karlsson to get thier cap in order.

Do they though? Haula has been that scoring center.

Worth noting, the bruins play a really weird system. It’s complicated, particularly for d men, but also for centers. I don’t think they’re at liberty to just go after any old center. It might be a reason they stick with a guy that works.

Mainly what i want from haula and foligno is leadership and influence for our developing young talent. I think, and i know this is my opinion, olofsson is a 1 dimesional player, a really amazing shooter in that dimension but 1 dimensional and he'll wanna be paid like a top 2nd line winger simlar to what im offering trochek. I dont want to pay him that because quinn is a talented shooter who im hoping surpasses him, cant have a team of shooters or young talent with no one to leanr the game from. The above team does not have a 1st line its a mix of talent. 1 season of mitts learning to play the game from haula is worth a lot. Nick folignos experience as a captain on a tortorella coached team has value. Guys that have been on runs in vegas and boston have value.
For goal tending i dont see anyone better than anderson signing here. Would you rather Jones? Holtby? Why not show loyalty to your boys and give anderson and tokarski another year. Im not sure upl is ready yet either and im pretty sure the other 2 goalies will be IR enough for h to get 20 nhl games while he shows me he can crush the AHL and portillo and levi are on thier way.
This team isnt a playoff team, trying to make them one is rushing things. The boston deal is a low 2nd and 2 guys im not gonna sign for when im good traded for two guys that will make the guys i want here in 3 years better. Thats the thought. I wonder what you thought of girgenson and okposo 2 years ago if you dont see the amaxing value if an eric haula.

I don't mind anderson, but he is gonna be 41. Reasonably, we saw this year, durability is a question, and does he want to come back? Tokarski should be out, too unorthodox, I just dont think he's good enough. My thought is grab a cam Talbot or somebody like that, a Vet that can give us 40-50 solid starts. Then if you have anderson filling in and upl coming up as needed.

Wait so you would seriously reject a deal where you get a pick, the better and younger forward, and dump a bad contract? You can’t be legit rn. Haula is solid but he is no star

Yes I would reject it.

Again the 2nd rounder has less then an 18% chance of playing games 100 NHL games. If the pick does hit they are likely 3yrs away from being an NHL regular, doesn't fit the Bruins win now mode. Olofsson is solid but no star and he's not displacing anyone in the Bruins top 6. Moving Haula means they need to replace a piece in the top 6. Foligno can easily be bought out if the B's need cap relief.

Again this deal does nothing for Boston

If he's so replaceable why don't you just acquire someone else? Guys strong in the dot, can play all-situations and all for under $3 million.

So do you like the deal? Is there something there the bruins would like in cap savings and a scorer?

the cap savings is nice for foligno wise but haula is on a steal of a deal his 5v5 offence and defence has been amazing and since moving to the 2nd line has been on a 60+ point pace in 82 games hard to find that for 2.35 mill.

if foligno was making 2-2.5 mill i wouldnt move him, his defence has been great he is a solid leader bring good physicality which is needed in playoffs and he has an unrelentless motor he is always hustling even his play driving and offence has improved as the season has gone by

i like olofsson but his style of play doesn't fit boston a whole lot, he is bad defensively and doesn't play physical literally everything B's pride themselves on, he most likely doesn't beat debrusk for RW1 as debrusk is hot and has took a rather big step in his game looks better then he did back before the covid seasons
debrusk currently has 22 5v5 goals out of 24 most those goals coming within the last 30ish games
just a comparison
laine only has 21
svechnikov 21
rantanen 20
B tkachuk 21
E Pettersson 20
william nylander 19
brayden point 18
tom wilson 18

and all those guys are called great scorers some even called elite scorers yet debrusk is outscoring all them 5v5 even in Bruins rather more defensive system and could potentially be higher in total goals if he played PP1 yet no one wanted to even give a 2nd for debrusk at the TD

so ya he doesn't beat out debrusk and his solid all around 200ft game and oloffson would play 3rd line he doesn't fit the design of that role, though is more skilled the frederic, frederic is the near definition of a third line hitter and he has good chem with coyle and smith they have been very successful since being put all on the same line.

value is pretty decent production wise kinda but i just don't think it works out for either team boston style of play doesn't work with olofsson or bjork and i just don't think haula or foligno would help buffalo enough to compete
DDossett liked this.

He's replaceable for boston who has a team of guys who do what haula does which is why he fits well there. For buffalo he'd be a hard player to come by because they're not competetive or a premier destination.

I don't think you have any idea what Haula does for the Bruins. Who on their current roster can replace him?
