Nah Smith doesn't fit us and the other assets aren't that enticing imo

Young RD (not perfect style of play sure), high draft pick, potential 3C or middle 6 winger, save around 3 mil in cap space. That hits 4 needs on one trade!

Smith is a small young LHD who has regressed this year Zacha is a middle six winger sure and an early 2nd isn't making me run to the phone to trade Boeser who can be a 30+ goal scorer in the leauge, hell he lead our team in points and goals last year, a full healthy year under boudreau will do wonders for Boeser

I see this a lot on this site. The extreme confidence that Boeser /won't/ be moved for anything but a RHD. Is there a source for that? Last I heard, VAN liked both of these players, wanted to shed salary, and wanted to get bigger.

If I missed some reporting that they'd only move Boeser in a move that addresses their needs I apologize, but it just feels like internet posters are EXTREMELY confident in the things their team will and won't do

to my knowledge there has only been reports of us being interested in Zacha, as in terms of trading Boeser for a RHD, it's more of a logical guess the biggest hole on the team is RHD so it would be the best reason to trade Boeser yes you shed salary but Boeser is a better player than Zacha and Van has a log jam at LHD already, it's just a trade that doesn't make sense for us, Zacha is only 2 inches taller and 2 pounds heavier than Boeser so we don't upgrade here really on size, going back to every trade rumour Boeser has been it's always been for a RHD coming back ie Marino this season or Dumba a few years ago, i/ the fan base doesn't see it making sense to trade Boeser otherwise

But sure, that makes sense. Maybe it's just a weird personal thing I have where the way people talk about what their team WILL do seems...off. I get we all have our opinions on what a team may/should do, but sometimes I feel like I'm missing reporting when people make strong declarative statements.

Fwiw, Ty played the right in junior. I can absolutely see a trade with Vancouver but my guess would be that it's Garland and not Boeser. All rumors point to Fitz *loving* him. Apparently we were close before you guys offered pick 9

Ah he's left handed, that is worse for sure. I guess he plays right side but not ideal. The fact that he had a down yr is probably the only reason he is available in this trade. Its near impossible to acquire a good young dman via trade. Pick 35 or whatever it is is a really nice pick. And I think Boeser could easily be the first guy traded from this group because he lacks speed which management is always hyping and his QO is too high for what he does. Are you against trading Boeser or Miller? I would trade both personally because this team is not even close right now. We need to take a step back if we ever wanna have sustained success.
