Dunno about that, it's potentially the 4th overall pick. NYR should run for that.

That being said, PHI should not be selling that.

Why wouldn't you just draft Nemec or Jiricek with that pick? It's slated for 4th overall right now?

Flyers shouldn't trade that and if it was traded, the team acquiring shouldn't trade it and add to acquire a player they could easily pick with that draft pick.

So many issues it's actually confusing.

Philly isn't trading their 4th OA pick and even with the pick changed into a protected 2023 1st it would be still tough for Philly because Foerster is the exact player that they need.

The Jets don't do the Philly trade which negates the Ranger trade. But maybe the Detroit one works.

Kings need experienced top 4 LHD. Heinola isn’t it.

I don't think Scheifele

I don't think Scheifele brings much more than that. Like he's really good and on a decent contract for his offensive output but his defensive play seemed to be really lacking this year and with everything going on, I just don't see a team paying more than this.

Actually, you know, you may be right. I thought Foerster was a winger and couldn't see the Jets wanting two wingers back. You are right, this may be pretty close.

I think Philly could do FLA 24 1st and TK, anything more I’d say they walk

That first round pick would likely be one of the two RHD I would expect as well.

The Jets would be fools for not trading him for that. That would be a big overpay by Philly.

Too much for Schiefele. Flyers probably do it if it's the FLA 2024 1st, but Jets are likely better off moving Schiefele elsewhere

Wings aren't touching Schmidt's contract if you were paying a 3rd to take him

It's definitely a fair toss up but the difference is between what is a known factor and what isn't. Schneider has shown tremendous upside and that he can handle the NHL, while the prospects at #4 would have higher potential, they can also just as easily bust in the NHL. They also don't necessarily have the attributes the rangers drafted Schneider for (physicality, leadership, etc.). Also, Schneider is ready for the NHL now while a draft pick may take a year or two to develop. Considering the rangers window it does have some risk.

If it was straight for the pick I'd agree with you but there was also DeMelo also involved, who brings at least the same what Schneider brings in right now. Granted Schneider has more potential, but with that pick being as high it is you'd get a chance for a top level prospect as well as a solid bottom-4 D-man.

I'd argue it's very unlikely that Schneider ends up being better than that combination - and WPG (or PHI) would be insane to try it.
