Bratt won't come in at Jack's number. Boqvist gets /at least/ 1.5 less. Vesey probably yeeted.

Trades look fine to me

I’m not attempting to destroy your confidence but Minnesota has zero use for Zacha, he’s essentially an expensive 4th line winger in our lineup.

I do not believe adding wingers will change much for NJ. Our current lineup will score plenty.

Also…why dump Wood for Vesey? Why pay Boqvist so much?

I think the 1st for Fiala is a big, bold move if it sticks at 5OA. Hard to see Minnesota blinking at that offer - Fiala is good, but they're in a cap squeeze with those buyout penalties and a top 5 pick might bring in a guy on an ELC that can play NHL minutes right away. I wonder if getting rid of Zacha & the 2nd makes it enough for Guerin to just bite the bullet.

Boeser trade seems to be fair value - a roster player, a recent 1st round prospect, and a high 2nd feels like a good deal for Boeser. Just need to convince Canucks fans that Ty Smith can play the right side as well (CP has him listed as LD/RD), because they need a little more help on that side than the left side.

Isles trade is a non-starter, if only because they've got 13 forwards under contract next season and adding those 2 guys just forces them to have to make other moves. If you have an LD to dangle in that deal, there's probably some traction to that deal.

Wood for a mid-round pick is totally fair, just not sure who takes that bait.

As far as the signings, I think you can probably get Jersey's RFAs a little cheaper, but it'll be balanced out by the fact that Fiala & Boeser probably come in pricier than what you have here.

I don't think trading for Fiala AND Boeser is needed. One is fine, two would be too expensive

I agree to an extent. I def overpaid boqvist but i figure hes in for a raise after somewhat of a breakout year. As for the winger thing, we have tons of d prospects down the pipeline (muk, hughes, bahl) to the degree that it may not be worth going out and filling those spots with vets when they should be occupied by current prospects 1-2 years from now. Therefore stack the forwards now and try to win now off of pure offense while we wait for the d to develop naturally. kukan fills a temporary spot as a solid (imo underrated) defensive d man

zacha is just a less valuable and less productive replacement for fiala. could just be be a temporary piece to be used in a later deal for the team unless he breaks out.

i dont really see why not. its time to make moves to win now. another losing season would be detrimental for this young core and i think if paying some future to make that happen is necessary, its worth it.
