  2. Kostin, Klim [RFA Rights]
  3. Scandella, Marco
  4. 2022 1st round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
I think St Louis will go far these playoffs. But one thing that has been an issue for them has been defense.. They can't stay healthy. So they go after Provorov who was rumored to them before the deadline. He really isn't need on the team anymore with the emergence of Sanheim and York coming to be on the roster next year. This help St Louis sure up an already amazing top 5 defense.
STL
  1. Provorov, Ivan
Additional Details:
Philly is going for a hard retool this offseason. So they get rid of Provorov to get some roster players. Kostin and Dickinson i think will be on the roster next year. They also get a first and Macro Scandella who helps them not retain salary with extension coming up shortly for many players.
2.
PHI
  1. 2022 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Philly Trades up to get Logan Cooley who can fill the hole of Claude Guroix one day. They give up there 1st, New Yorks Thrid next year. And Morgan Frost who is an RFA after the year.
NJD
  1. Frost, Morgan [RFA Rights]
  2. Strome, Matthew [RFA Rights]
  3. 2022 1st round pick (PHI)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
New Jersey trades back because they really don't need more center and have bigger holes to fill on defense. So they trade back a couple picks. They also get a Rangers 3rd and Morgan Frost with the other strome brother.

Morgan Frost is a center, no?

He's a thrid line center, he can also play anywhere. It hard for the Devils to select Cooley because he's a top 6 centerman and they already have Hughes and Hischier.

No idea why this would matter. Devils should take the best player. "we have too many high end centers" is not something said by many NHL front offices.

Though I don't think I hate this trade in principal.

I get the idea, however I think the Blues will fell comfortable with Perunovich on the second pair LD next year and I doubt they want to trade that much for a 3rd pairing LD. Blues will more than likely run a D core of
Krug-Faulk
Perunovich-Parayko
Scandella-Bortuzzo
Mikkola (extra)

The value is okay, but I can't see the Blues adding this much cap in a trade for Provy.

Provorov is not a 3rd pairing d. He'd be perfect for the Blues IF the cap hit was reduced. As it is it won't work.

Provorov was bad this year. I would put Krug and Perunovich above him making him the 3rd pairing guy.

Provorov is better defensively. Yes, he had a down year but who didn't on the Flyers besides Giroux?

He actually is, but had a very rough year. He needs a change of scenery, but don't think the Blues are necessarily a great match.
